Drivers’ education is a course of study, as for high-school students, that teaches the techniques of driving a vehicle. Drivers’ education is a necessity and a vital component in our daily lives. Without drivers’ education there would be thousands of deaths every year including the ones we have already and with drivers’ education the death risks are reduced by a vast amount. Cars have safety components like a seat belt, air bag on the steering wheel or caution stickers for a reason. Drivers and passengers need them to be kept safe. With drivers’ education you can not only know safety signs and precautions, but you can also know to check your surroundings, which is very important when you’re driving. If people are uneducated about driving, then there will be negative outcomes not only for the people in the car but for the people around them too. Some of this negative outcome is not only the high possibility of death but it may also cause of the loss of money. For example, if the people that where in the accident didn’t have insurance how would they pay for the accident damages if they already don’t have money. The steps that can be taken to the numbers of deaths reduced by driving is put on seatbelt, look at surroundings before driving, look at tips online about the safest driving techniques to keep everyone safe not only for humans but for animals too.
I have experience with a car accident that left me traumatized to the point where it makes me look at my surroundings even when I’m not driving or don’t know how to drive. It was raining and thundering hard, so my dad was driving cautiously when suddenly, we see a car behind us driving so fast like in the movies “Fast and Furious”. The car driving then crashed and as soon as we saw it crash, we called 911. My sister, brother, and I where the most afraid because we were so young and now, we are afraid of thunderstorms it brought us bad memories and flashbacks because it was obvious that the driver had died. This is a reason why I haven’t tried learning how to drive. I know when I do try to learn how to drive, I’m going to study driving safety to the point I know it without thinking twice about it.
Another thing about why drivers’ education is important is because it’s a necessity, everyone drives these days, and a car is one of the most convenient ways to travel or move from place to place if we cannot afford traveling by airplane. People should get a certain certification and there will be no exemptions of a lesson on reducing deaths with a passed score and if they where to fail they will not be able to drive without that certificate which will reduce the deaths of many people. This is called the driver’s education class. I, a 17-girl female is concerned about other people’s safety for numerous reasons such as driving fast when teenagers get their first car. They should be monitored the first few months or years so that they don’t go overboard with speeding, putting themselves in danger etc.
Although teenagers want their freedom once they start driving, they should also be trained to be more cautious of other large vehicles for example, an 18-wheeler and school buses especially if they are filled with children. Although not big, motorcycles are as equally as dangerous as an 18-wheeler because the person driving the motorcycle has a higher chance of death because they don’t have protection that a vehicle could provide. They only have a helmet to keep their heads protected and most of the time motorcycle accidents affect more than just the head, it affects the body too. In the driving education course that is provided to the public there could also be lessons taught about what to do and what not to do when police cars and ambulances are trying to get through traffic.
In conclusion getting a driver’s education only brings benefits, helps reduce accidents, and helps reduce other people’s safety even if they may not be aware of it. With a driver’s education people are going to be happier and feel more overjoyed with driving while at the same time they will feel safe. They will feel as safe as a newborn baby being held by his mother in her arms. Next time you want to drive think about the courses you could take before driving to make everyone safer.
