The
Dangers of Reckless Driving
Reckless drivers
are everywhere. It’s people like this that take away our loved ones
and can add the fear of driving. Topics that will be discussed are
the importance of drivers ed in reducing the number of deaths
in driving, steps that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths in
driving, the way that irresponsible drivers affect lives including
mine, and steps that I as a person can take to be a better and safer
driver as well as things I can do to help others become safer.
More and more
people are on the road with the improper driving education they need.
Drivers ed is very important because without it people can be
injured or even die. In 2018, there were approximately 4.5 million
people who were seriously injured or died due to a car crash. If
drivers ed was pushed it could lead to the reduction of car
crashes. Steps that could be taken to reduce crashes would be making
people that are new to getting their license take more drivers
education classes to stress the importance of driving safe. The next
step would be to make people that get into car crashes go to these
classes as well. These two steps would help to cut back on the amount
of deaths due to car crashes and would help educate drivers on how to
be safer.
Everyday people are
affected by car accidents including myself. My brother was driving to
work and he was speeding. He went to turn a curve but couldn’t
because of the speed. He landed upside down in a tree when the car
finally stopped and passed away. This changed my look on driving. He
didn’t plan to lose control of his wheel but his speeding made the
car lose control. This situation has taught me to never speed
especially around sharp turns because in an instant something like
that situation could easily happen to me. Most times it takes a
situation to happen for someone to learn the lesson; however, the
goal is to get people to learn the lesson before a situation does
occur. A step that could be taken to become a better and safer driver
would be to keep track of when I make a mistake when driving and give
myself a punishment to teach myself to not make the same mistake
again. Another step could be to take some courses on ways to be a
safer driver. To help others become safer on the road I could make
videos telling my story on how reckless driving has affected me to
show how important it is to be safe on the road.
Drivers ed
is more important than some people see it as. People pass away
everyday due to reckless drivers and these families are affected.
Just practicing a few steps could help everyone to become better and
safer drivers as well as could also reduce the number of car crashes.
