Driver education is an important knowledge for all individuals to attain in order to lower the number of fatalities, among other reasons, it educates the knowledge of road safety, driver responsibilities, traffic laws and preventing accidents.
Having an understanding of the importance of road safety not only influences one's own well-being, but also the safety of others in the community. It decreases the chances of accidents that are often fatal for pedestrians and drivers, possibly even resulting in death. A driver's responsibilities on the road are an important subject to be aware of to ensure the safety of the public by acting and behaving responsibly on the road. A thorough understanding of the road traffic laws is important when it comes to preventing collisions and accidents on the road. Aside from encouraging drivers to follow stop signs, speed limits, and other guidelines for safe driving, obeying traffic regulations also contributes to maintaining an orderly flow of traffic. Maintaining traffic flow is essential to minimizing the likelihood of car accidents for instances of aggressive driving behavior. Because of congestion, stop-and-go traffic situations are more likely to result in frustration and aggressive behavior, such as road rage. These actions have the potential to turn into dangerous situations and accidents. When it comes to prioritizing the safety of drivers and pedestrians, preventing accidents is critical. Therefore, having a better understanding of driving education could potentially help reduce the number of deaths and serious injuries on the roads as a result of road accidents.
It is essential that we develop hands-on driver's training programs and educational classes for people to develop driving skills in order to reduce the number of deaths related to driving. Specifically, on topics such as traffic laws, vehicle control, identifying road signs, and learning safe driving habits. As part of the hands-on learning process, the lessons may involve a variety of different types of roads, traffic conditions, and learning new driving skills on the roads. As well as publicly spreading safety awareness for the new and young drivers in the topic of the important safety procedures, giving them the understanding and prevention of potential risks. Another step can be improving alternative transportations. In order to decrease the number of vehicles on the road, the public should be encouraged to establish and utilize additional bike routes, electrical train lines, and pedestrian routes. And finally, we should as a community, improve our modernized vehicle safety, such as automatic emergency braking and lane-keeping systems.
Despite the fact that I have never been in a serious car accident, I have witnessed reckless driving by both friends and relatives. When my friends took a road trip during break, they brought alcohol and many friends that were in college with them. Due to the high number of youth and alcohol on the road, this has resulted in irresponsible driving. As they raced along the highways, ignoring speed restrictions and safety precautions, as well as posting videos of their dangerous behavior to social media, which has only promoted the spread of reckless driving. Soon after, however, their recklessness caught up with them, and both cars were severely injured in an accident as a result of their reckless driving. Despite the incident being a tragic event, it provided a sobering reminder as to the consequences associated with careless driving.
Which leaves me to how I will better myself on the road by being a better and safer driver. It is my intention to accomplish this by educating myself to seek higher knowledge by taking refresher courses to test and improve my knowledge and skills in this area. The aggressive driving experiences I have witnessed among friends have taught me to refrain from engaging in reckless behavior myself. Likewise, I will refrain from driving when I am ill, fatigued, or if the weather is extreme, in order to reduce the likelihood of a collision. I believe as an older sister and a role model to younger individuals it is my responsibility to teach them the importance of driving safely on the road, along with safety tips and precautions.
