Without driving education people in the United States and all over the world would get hurt on a daily basis. Driving education is very important to reduce the number of deaths and car crashes because if people are more educated when they are driving then they might be more understanding that driving is a task where you need to focus and not play about.
There are many steps you can take to avoid deaths related to driving like putting on your seat belt when you first get into your car, make sure you turn your phone off because you do not want any distractions, and also make sure you stay alert. Make sure you follow all the laws in your city and be smart about your actions. Don't drive while intoxicated. According to The National Safety Council, it states “cell phone use while driving leads to 1.6 million crashes each year. Nearly 390,000 injuries occur each year from accidents caused by texting while driving. 1 out of every 4 car accidents in the United States is caused by texting and driving.” 1.6 million lives can be saved if people can just put their phone away until they get to their destination. “Wearing a belt keeps passengers from being ejected from a vehicle in a crash. When a vehicle stops abruptly, its passengers will also stop-Otua.”
I am blessed and lucky that I have never experienced a car accident but tragically on July 14, 2017, I lost my cousin to a car accident. My cousin was only 17 years old. My cousin didn’t get the experience to even graduate high school or even go to prom. After my cousin passed away from the car crash it made me think this incident can happen to anyone no matter who you are what age you are.
I haven’t learned how to drive yet but the steps I can take to be a better and safer driver in the future is to never get distracted on the road. Cell Phone Use While Driving Increases the Risk of an Accident. According to the American Automobile Association (AAA it states “One out of 20 drivers use a cell phone when they're in the car, However, doing so makes you four times more likely to get into an accident. ... Texting while driving is even worse.”
