The
Real Importance of Drivers ed
Driver
education is extremely important in many ways because it teaches
drivers ways on how to be safe as they gain experience in driving.
Drivers ed helps inform people that they need to be aware of
everything around them including other people, signs, road obstacles,
and many other things that might cause a problem if not paid
attention to. It also teaches drivers that they need to be focused on
driving and not attempting to complete other tasks while doing so. Us
drivers contain most of the control over our safety from when we
drive. The parts we have no control over, we can still perform
certain steps to ensure our safety of ourselves and others. Some
examples of that are to not drive too closely to other vehicles
because sometimes even if you are a safe driver, somebody else may
not be. Additionally, you can make other choices like not blaring
music, not using your phone while driving, and checking for traffic
and/ or pedestrians through your mirrors often. All these things can
help keep everybody safe on the road as well as reduce the number of
deaths related to driving. When people don't make smart decisions
while driving, that is how they hurt themselves or people around
them. Accidents happen so quickly and can be caused by the slightest
things. I, personally, have never experienced any car accidents.
Although, my mother passed away due to a car accident. Her accident
taught me to be safe by always wearing my seatbelt. A seatbelt is an
object in the car to wear and keep drivers and passengers safe. It is
not just an accessory for a car, it is an important component of the
car to help keep people safe. Another rule I have learned from her
experience that will help myself, and others, be safe on the road is
to never drive intoxicated. Not only does it put myself at risk, but
it puts everyone around me at risk of being injured. I also know a
lot of people that text while driving or they drive intoxicated.
Making smart choices and being the safest that you can is the step
you can take to help keep drivers more safe and reduce the number of
deaths from driving.
