Getting my driver's license is something I have looked forward to for a long time, but I know learning to drive is about much more than being able to go wherever I want. Driving is a privilege that comes with a great deal of responsibility. Every time someone gets behind the wheel, they are making choices that affect not only their own safety but also the safety of everyone around them. That is why I want to complete a driver's education course and become the safest driver I can be. Receiving this scholarship would help me take an important step toward becoming a responsible, confident, and prepared young adult.

As I get older, I am beginning to realize how important independence is. Being able to drive will allow me to get to school activities, volunteer opportunities, work, and eventually college without always depending on someone else for transportation. It will also help me become more responsible by teaching me to manage my time, plan ahead, and make good decisions. While getting a driver's license is exciting, I understand that it also means accepting the responsibility that comes with it.
