My
name is Kayla Tadewosian, I am a sophomore at Cal state Bakersfield
and it is also my second year apart of the Women's Softball team
playing for the roadrunners. This scholarship caught my eye because I
believe there are many important things about drivers ed that
many people just let fly an don't pay attention to. The importance of
drivers ed in reducing the number of deaths as a result fro
driving is because it has been proven that teens that take the
driving course are less likely to get into a car crash, they have
more knowledge of what is going on the road and they are more
cautious and aware of themselves and everyone around them, in which
everyone on the road should be like that.


Steps
that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths on the road can
start with everyone having a clear knowledge of drivers ed and
the safe way to do anything on the road. First things first, your
seatbelt is the most important while driving and making sure if you
are intoxicated you have a designated driver before hand already
planned out, and when on the road you need to be cautious for the
other drivers because as much as you may be a good driver there are
many out there that aren't and need the extra safety and knowledge. I
personally have never had experience with bad driving or a car
accident but both friends, family and strangers I have heard or seen
many things happen. I learn from each of their mistakes and I think
that is what makes me a better driver is learning from others
failures and friends have gotten to many accidents that could've been
easily prevented by just being EXTRA cautious and careful. To me that
is irresponsible driving because if there was a way to prevent it
then you didn't care enough to do it and that needs to change,
because now you are suffering the consequences for a reason.


Steps
I can take to be a better driver are, sometimes taking a step back
and making sure that I carefully pay attention the drivers around me
because like i said I can be as good as I can and try to be perfect
but sadly there are many out there that don't care. There are many
things we can change in the driving world but the first thing you
need to understand is that you can only control you and nobody else,
be as prepared as you can but even sometimes that's not enough but I
pray it is overtime anyone gets into a vehicle I hope the drive
