Better Safe Than Sorry

I think that the importance of drivers ed in reducing the number of deaths as a result of driving is that if we all follow the rules of the roads it would lead to a massive decline in deaths from driving-related incidents. That’s the problem though, how are we going to get people to follow the rules of the road? I think that the only true way to do that is by showing them the results of bad driving this will not only scare them, but it will show them what can easily happen to them if they aren’t careful and how easily a life can be lost by one poor decision. One massive thing that the government could do to reduce the amount of driving-related incidents would be to allow an area like an abandoned airport or something of that nature to allow people to go drive anyway they want because then when they have those urges to do something that isn’t legal on the roads they would have an area to drive the way they want. I think this would be a huge help because it would allow people a safe area where they can’t hurt anyone else why they are driving dangerously. I’ve never been in an accident and all of my family members that have been in them have recovered pretty well except for my Great Uncle Paul. Paul and his significant other Dauty both got in a motorcycle accident and that caused great pain for them and they still can’t get around as they used to, they now use electric wheelchairs for the most part because it allows them to get around without pain. This is something major that I have witnessed in my life that makes me want to drive safely at all times and be aware of my surroundings because it wasn’t their fault in their accident it was a traffic light malfunction which is very tragic. I think that there are lots of steps we could do to be a safer and better driver a lot just involve thinking. Think about your destination, what will happen if you don’t make it there? Also, think about the people you care most about what would happen if you got hurt how would they feel and how would that change them? That’s something to think about every time we get in a vehicle to help us try to stay driving safe. I am a person who puts my seatbelt on every time a get in a vehicle and my friends will ask me, “Why are you wearing a seatbelt?” I simply respond with, “Better safe than sorry.” This ends the conversation nine times out of ten and people won’t question me anymore. If anybody bothers you about wearing a seatbelt then they clearly aren’t a true friend if they are bothering you about something that is keeping you protected.
