These days, anyone can get a license; however, not everyone should be allowed behind the wheel. Speaking from experience, I have been in three accidents in my life. One involved someone falling asleep at the wheel, one because someone did not check before backing out and one was because a truck swerved at the last minute. I got in an accident when I was only ten. There was a dead animal in the road and people did not react to it in enough time which caused our car to hit it and flip on its side. Since people were swerving in front of us, we got the short end of the stick. It's crazy to think it all could have been over just like that. This shows that if you are tired or not in the right condition to drive, do not get behind the wheel. People put others in danger but may not realize they are putting themselves in danger by driving. People die or get injured every day because of reckless driving and not being mindful of their surroundings. I have had a few friends who would drive recklessly, not caring about who they were driving by or the danger they were putting people in. They are not just putting other drivers in danger, but also the people in the car with them.

There are many things that can be done to reduce the number of deaths related to driving. For one, I feel like the driver’s test should test more of their skills besides driving up a street and parking. I feel like people should get tested on their awareness before receiving a license and how focused they are on the road. For people who already have a license, they should obey signs, be more cautious and stay focused. It may be fun to drive fast and have a joy ride but saving lives is much more important. Other ways to help reduce the number of deaths is to never drink and drive, always wear your seatbelt, have the right number of people in your car, train for poor weather conditions and be aware of who is in your car.
Knowing how to drive properly is crucial, especially when the weather outside can be unpleasant. If it is raining, snowing or whatever, stay off the roads. Unless someone has practiced for those conditions, then it is better to be safe than sorry. Rain and wet roads cause more car accidents and injuries than snow, fog or sleet. A study based on data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration shows that most weather-related crashes happen on wet pavement (73 percent) and when it rains (46 percent). Mixing unsafe roads with careless drivers will result in nothing positive.

Driver education plays a key role in reducing the number of deaths caused by driving. It provides a structured and comprehensive learning experience that helps new drivers develop the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the roads safely. It covers essential topics like traffic laws and road signs. By learning about traffic laws, defensive driving techniques and the danger of impaired driving, drivers are better equipped to make responsible decisions on the road. It also emphasizes the importance of following speed limits, wearing seat belts and avoiding distractions. Some type of defense driving that is taught are proper break stops and responding to potential hazards on the road like dead animals. Anything can happen and it is better to be safe than sorry. Driver education helps create a culture of responsible driving and ultimately saves lives. Stay safe on the road, promise it is just that easy. Driver's education can also be taught from both the classroom and behind the wheel. Individuals take what they learn and put it to the test. This helps them learn what they need to improve on to help them get better behind the wheel. The classroom session teaches students about important concepts and rules while behind the wheel practice allows them to have a hands-on learning experience. This blends the knowledge they were taught and prepares new drivers for different types of scenarios they may encounter on the road. Something to remember about drivers’ education,
is it includes professional instruction from experienced and certified instructors. People get driver assistance from the best. It can also be a plus to learn from someone who is experienced and not just from a computer because a human being can teach you things a computer cannot. They know what can happen on the road, which better helps prepare others. Also, everyone loves an incentive. With a better understanding of navigating the road using driver's education, you can get discounted insurance.

There are numerous ways me and others can follow to be better and safer drivers as well as help others. Leading by example can encourage people to practice important life lessons and skills they will need. Considering I do not have my license yet, I have been practicing driving for 6 months now. I took forever to want to learn because of my previous accidents and knowing people cannot drive. I also feel like learning to drive in only one short month is not enough time to be ready to get behind the wheel. Always stay alert on the road, never text and drive and have a heart for others driving around you.
