Why We Should Take Drivers Education
Why is driver education so important? Well there are many reasons behind why you need to learn to drive. If you don’t take driver education you don’t exactly know what you are doing when driving. Now that wouldn’t be the brightest idea. It would be similar to doing a very important surgery that could save someone if done right or kill them if done wrong. If you had zero idea what you were doing at all you would be majorly stressed out. Stress under situations like that is not a good thing. Stress can cause people to mess up and not think straight, now add that with having no idea what you are doing it is the perfect combination for disaster. Now if the surgeon knew what they were doing, because they took classes on this topic, they should be able to complete the surgery successfully and save a life.
I feel some of the major steps that need to be taken for safer driving, is more control over people driving with phones. For example people have to lock their phones in a compartment before they can start driving. If they got an important text or call it would be marked on a hands free device. They could then pull over and answer the text or call. And before they start driving again they would have to put their device back in said compartment. Distractions are a huge part of car accidents that cause people to be killed. Hands free devices are a thing in today's world but are still not as commonly used as they should be. They are also not used how they should be used most times. Even with a hands-free device people are still distracted by their phone to a concerning amount. People have become addicted to them and feel as if they can't exist a day without their phone. But phones aren’t the only issue on the road. Sometimes it can be road rage. When people are mad they can act very irrationally and people can hit each other with their cars or yell at eachother and that can cause someone to crash. Many car accidents can kill others depending on the severity of it. Another thing could be eating while driving. This situation could be very dangerous for yourself and others around you. You don’t have full control of the car while you are eating and driving, this could then also cause you to crash endangering everyone around you and yourself. Another would be people in the vehicle with you. Always be careful who you drive with, if they are going to be annoying or distracting to you don’t drive with them. It is a dangerous situation that is not worth the trouble.The last thing that could be taken for safer driving would be to either not listen to music when driving or put on a station you know you like so that you don’t have to change stations while in the middle of driving. This is another distraction that can cause you to crash because you are not paying enough attention to the road.
I have been in car accidents a few times although none of them were caused by the person that was driving the car I was in at the time. All of them were because of the person behind us not paying attention to the road when we stopped. Sometimes people that I am being driven by can be irresponsible but I know I should not follow their example of driving because it can be dangerous.
The best steps I could ever take when driving would be to never look at my phone while driving. It could be super dangerous and cause me to crash if I am not paying attention. If I'm listening to music in the car I should always pick a playlist or station I enjoy so that I don’t have to constantly change it when a song I don't like plays, and if I do happen to get one of those songs I need to just ignore it so that I don’t get distracted. I should always pay attention to the people I’m driving with and never eat in the car because it genuinely is not worth the risk. I know that I should never lose control of my emotions while driving because I would be an irrational driver and could cost my life or someone else's life. In the end the main source of the issue is distractions. Being distracted is the worst thing that could happen when you are driving. It causes so many issues and has cost so many lives. Always pay attention on the road, it can be a dangerous place.
