Every year we lose 1.35 million souls in car accidents,Between 20 and 50 million more people suffer non-fatal injuries, with many incurring a disability.According to the World Health Organisation,these numbers are going to rise with the United States holding the biggest number of car accidents, Americans who died in a car accident are more than those who died in World Wars which makes us ask ourselves,how long  this catastrophe will last ?Aren’t we going to find solutions to this problem ?
Driver education plays an important role in reducing the number of deaths as a result of driving.Individuals wishing to buy or drive a vehicle must possess the necessary knowledge and skills to operate these death machines.Through well-studied driver education programs ,the driver is lent the tools to make split-second decisions that can save lives when facing incidents.A driver should know the rules of the road,traffic laws, and regulations to reduce the risks of accidents,a good driver should always be familiar with traffic signs,signals, and right-of-way rules so he can drive responsibly.In addition, a driver is taught to obey speed limits, use turn signals, and yield to pedestrians to provide safe roads for everyone.Individuals should know the consequences of violating traffic laws ,driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and even driving while being distracted by someone or something which will make it easier for drivers to be aware of their faults when practicing.Teenagers are the most excited people when driving thinking they have enough experience to drive alone that’s why we should emphasize driver education .
It is not difficult for drivers to prevent accidents causing deaths ,There are some serious steps every driver must follow if he wants to stay alive .First of all,before mounting the vehicle individuals should know a little bit of maintenance like checking engine oil , tire pressure, and brake fluid a 5-minute check in the day cannot hurt, and you must wear your seatbelt which will prevent 50 percent of injuries if an accident occurred.Secondly,a driver must practice Defensive Driving which involves being aware of your surroundings and anticipating potential hazards on the road ,this includes maintaining a safe distance,checking mirrors frequently and before braking, and scanning the road before maneuvering.Last but not least,If you are behind the wheel , you must always obey traffic laws and ditch dangerous and reckless driving , it is not only for your safety but for others' safety , some people have their lovers waiting for them to get home so don’t be the one to take their lives.When I got my license my dad never handed me the car alone ,it was either I was with you or you stayed home.
I once had an accident,it was my first real car accident and it happened 6 months ago .I was driving my mom’s car home and a reckless driver didn’t stop for the red light ,I also didn’t stop so we crashed .It was his fault but I kept blaming myself for being irresponsible.That day I remembered my father when he told me : « A good driver should always be ready to predict others' mistakes and correct them ».Even if he violated the traffic lights, I should have stopped and this is a message for every driver out there,if you want to stay safe give up on your rights.
From my experience,I followed these two steps to prevent car accidents forever.A new driver lacks fast reflexes because his body is not used to this activity where all of your mind is performing what is called multitasking ,that’s why new drivers should practice exercises that could enhance their reflexes like catching dropping sticks ,boxing, or simply online exercises.These types of activities will work on enhancing your involuntary movements and you will notice the difference when driving ,which brings us to my second and last step,new drivers must drive a lot whether in the city or outside the city,the real challenges won’t face you in the driving school ,they will pop up when you start driving in new places and different situations .Don’t be ashamed of your mistakes but be ashamed if you keep doing the same ones,I believe that everyone has a little Schumacher hidden deep inside him ,and this little driver will someday be an experienced one.
