It is always the journey, never the destination

Losing loved ones in senseless car accidents is a heartbreaking event, a constant reminder that

each passing hour takes away the innocence of beautiful lives. Despite my grief, a gentle motivation

grows within me, a desire to broaden my knowledge and gently educate our drivers along a safer path,

saving the gift of life for future generations.

My father teaching me to drive on those peaceful, open grounds still warms my heart. I

immediately requested that he show me around the busy roads teaming with traffic, thinking it was a

simple matter of common sense. He patiently walked me through the fundamentals, from mirror

adjustments to accurate parallel parking. I thought it was comical at the time, but it was a clever way of

teaching the important lesson that modest driving abilities are the foundation for becoming a better

driver. My father was not just teaching me how to control a car, he was nurturing the responsibility and

mindfulness that lay at the core of becoming a great driver. His lessons were safeguarding lives,

preventing accidents that could lead to the shredding of blood. It is amazing how his teachings, at a

time, transformed inro a lifelong appreciation for nuances of driving, making me not only proficient

driver, but a vigilant guardian of the road.

The tragic loss of my friend’s mother in a fatal car accident, all in the cause of getting to a

meeting on time, remains a frightening reminder of the repercussions of driving recklessly. The three

orphaned children who were left behind, eternally terrified by the negligence of others, serve as a

reminder of the importance of cautious driving. Drivers should remember that it is always better to be

late than never. To reinforce this, enforcing fines for excessive speeding, particularly on impetuous

youngsters, has become an essential step in preventing this harmful behavior. It is critical that drivers

understand the importance of small driving skills and that they observe traffic rules. By doing so, we can

make our roads safer, saving lives and preventing the heartbreaking stories that have touched us all.

Growing up in Zimbabwe, the New Year holidays had a particular place in our hearts as a sign of

accomplishments and objectives. However, my uncle, who has a predisposition for reckless driving,

delivered us an unforgettable lesson. His run-in with the law, a speeding violation at 80 mph, resulted in

a two-month jail sentence, a stark reminder of the consequences of one’s actions. From then on, I knew

it was not just a punishment, but a lifelong lesson, a reminder that obeying state rules and driving

responsibly is not only a legal requirement, but also a beautiful method to save lives. My uncle’s change

from that occurrence was magnificent, since in his punishment, he gave us a priceless awareness of the

significance of road safety.

Becoming a better driver is a process that consists of several steps. To accomplish these goals, I

will begin by learning about my car and its capabilities. Second, I’ll make sure my seat belt is properly

positioned so that I have the best view of the road ahead, minimizing blind areas and improving my

ability to identify any hazards. Avoiding distractions is also key, so I turn off my phone once I am in the

car to keep my focus on the road. It is critical to remain vigilant. I will also avoid driving while fatigued or

asleep, as this is a formula for disaster. Following speed limits is ultimately not a safety requirement,

but rather a traffic safety precaution to preserve lives.

Everyone, in my opinion, bears responsibilities for making the road trip safer and more secure.

It is not just through adhering to traffic regulations, but also by teaching our peers. I will raise awareness

of the dangers of careless driving among individuals, particularly those of my generation. I hope that

through raising awareness and teaching others, I will be able to assist prevent tragic outcomes. It will

not only increase road safety, but also serve as a model for future generations. By raising awareness and

acting, I can contribute to a safer and brighter future on the road.

Finally, I would want to thank the wonderful scholarship donors. Your assistance not only alleviates

our financial load, but also reminds us of the significance of safe driving and education. It is as though

you are striking two targets with one shot. Thank you very much. Your faith in young individuals like me

motivates me to strive for greatness in all aspects of life. Thank you once more for this great

opportunity.
