The Importance of Driving and It’s Safety

The importance of driving education is greatly important to reduce the number of deaths as a result of driving! There are specific signs that people may not know what they mean and overall, just learning how to drive is covered in any driver’s education class! In mine, we went over the driving handbook that is widespread and then we had unique ones for Pennsylvania. This allowed us to be able to learn the ways of the road. What different signs meant and what to do in different scenarios! Knowing what to do during time of an accident could greatly reduce the chance of death depending on how severe the accident is! Timeliness is key and keeping others safe on the road is just as key period people knowing how to drive and how to drive correctly is one of the ways that we can reduce deaths behind the wheel! In my high school, drivers Ed was a requirement freshman year. This was right before students were starting to get their driving permits and the class prepared us for that test! Our drivers Ed teacher even had the proper clearances to give drivers tests! Therefore, he was very knowledgeable about the safeness needed to properly drive on the road! So, having a solid instructor and a very well-rounded course in driver’s education is not key! You want to be teaching the students everything they need to know. Even if it’s a little thing. You want to know.

One thing I wish we would have learned more of, is more about the workings of a vehicle! I believe vehicle maintenance is a big contributor into reducing the number of deaths as a result of driving! If you have a vehicle malfunction on the road and can’t pull off, then that could endanger you and the other folks on the road too! Simple maintenance like your tires being in check, and your oil being in check are among the easiest things that we could learn in drivers’ education! Basic motor functions are another thing. All the way to ensuring that you know how to work your windshield wipers! I’m sure there are some curriculums that teach this. But for some it’s a matter of getting in the vehicle and flipping switches until you figure it out! A class teaching this could be very helpful to young people learning the ways around the road.

There are three simple steps that you can take to reduce the number of deaths related to driving. And that is accountability and knowing what to do, not being under the influence of alcohol while driving, and not being under the influence of drugs while driving. Having knowledge of the road allows you to be able to drive safely, not being impaired by drugs and alcohol allow you to properly be able to process what is going on and be able to react quickly if someone else would be causing an accident so that could potentially be avoided and potentially save both your and the other drivers life!

Other than hitting a deer in suburban areas, I personally have never had an experience of being in a car accident! I am very grateful for that that all my friends and family are very responsible when it comes to being behind the wheel! There are times where my friends have driven a little bit fast or passed someone in a questionable position that have definitely spooked me. As someone who doesn’t drive yet, I see these things and it reinforces to me that driving safely is more important than getting to your destination quicker! We aren’t perfect, but it is super important to always be on top of it even when you think you can do something it’s probably better to decide to not do it. While my friends didn’t do anything illegal, the zones were a bit narrower in terms of passing zones. Some I would argue shouldn’t have even been considered passing zones. Steps that can be taken to offer a better driving technique can be too simply follow the law! Don’t speed and posted speed limit zones, always keep an eye out for other drivers! Yield when necessary, and overall, just be in tune with what you are doing and try to stay 100% focused on the road when behind the wheel of a car! Though steps allow you to stand the best chance of getting from your destination to another destination safely and secure! Not only for you, but for everybody on the road! I appreciate your time for this consideration! Thank you.
