The importance of driving with care

Not having any experience or any form of knowledge can be very dangerous when on the road, even sometimes deadly. Having the ability to safely drive is very important, especially when we as a country are so dependent on driving. By sending young adults through driver’s ed they can learn how to drive safely and responsibly and start to gain the experience needed for on-the-road interactions with other drivers. Driving education is needed to be safe on the road, there is no possible way that someone with no driving experience can be let loose on the road and expect the people on the road with that person to be safe or even fine with letting them be on the road with them when they have jobs and families to go back too.

Using driver’s ed could also benefit the older drivers as well. Everyone has experienced that one old person driving on the road making rookie mistakes or going way too fast or too slow. Making older drivers retake some driver’s ed will help them become better drivers in the future so they can continue to enjoy driving like they used to just like when they were younger. It would also help if they took road tests just like teenagers getting their license, but this driving test will determine if they keep their driver’s license or if it will be taken away from them to keep everyone else on the roads safe. Removing the elderly drivers who could not drive safely would help everyone else become safer and it would also take people off the road causing less traffic and as a result, would cause fewer collisions between drivers and even pedestrians.

For example, me and my family were heading to a park on our summer vacation and as we were stopped at a red light an elderly man spun out of control hit the side of our car, and then proceeded to hit a road sign. No one was hurt in the experience, but our car was damaged and we could not even open any of the car doors on the left side. As a result, we were down a car and we had places to be, so it made our lives a little more difficult trying to figure everything out. So what needs to happen is that people who are not able to drive safely without hurting themselves or other people should be taken off the road with no exceptions. My family was fortunate enough to be able to pay for the damages but what if the person hit couldn’t pay for the damages? What would happen to them? It would be all because a person who could not drive responsibly was too careless to follow the rules of the road.

People should take their children aside and tell them the importance of driving correctly. I would suggest taking a day on the weekend and just taking them driving and showing them some rules and explaining how the road works and that the road isn’t a scary place to drive. How would you feel if your child was in a car accident? It would make you scared for them and you would want to make sure they’re alright. But the best way to protect the people you care about is to make sure the roads are safe all together. Making sure that people have enough experience to be safe on the road and not put anyone in danger.

That is why there are laws to protect people and make sure that they are safe, but there are still accidents and the lives of innocent people are being taken every single day. Another point is to make sure the laws are protecting the little guy. How do you know that you are protected? How do you know that you are cared for? Your insurance. People have insurance for everything, for a driver to be able to drive on the road they need insurance. So make sure that you and your loved ones are protected, from any form of harm that may happen on the road.

So all in all, being a safe and smart driver on the road is very very important. Also making sure that you and your loved ones are all accounted for in every way possible. This country and this world shouldn’t lose any more innocent people that didn’t do anything wrong. So make the roads a better place. Go and spread the word about being close to your family because if things don’t change they will only get worse and worse. Eventually leaving poor families out to dry with no way out.
