Driving Essay
I believe that the importance of driving education is underappreciated and undervalued. I believe that people need driving education because it makes our roads safer, saves lives, and benefits our communities. I believe knowing how to drive most importantly driving correctly can reduce deaths and save people’s lives. I believe that learning how to drive correctly can also set an example for new and up and coming drivers on how to drive correctly and safely. I believe driving education is one of the most important things to learn about driving because if you don’t know how to drive correctly it puts you and other peoples lives at risk. That’s why I believe that driving education is an important and urgent matter that new and existing drivers need to learn.
Some steps that can be taken to reduce deaths of driving are preventing drinking and driving. I believe that raising awareness and informing people about the importance of catching a ride, calling a taxi, or finding a way to prevent yourself from drinking and driving. About every day 37 people in the U.S die everyday from drunk driving. Every year 11,000 people die from drunk driving. Drunk driving causes 32% of all traffic crash fatalities. These reasons are why we need to stress the importance of preventing yourself from drinking and driving which caves your lives and the lives of other people’s lives because drinking and driving is a serious and possibly fatal matter. Another step that can be taken to reduce deaths from driving is learning how to drive correctly and the rules of the road. Knowing how to drive correctly can benefit you and the people around you. It can set an example to younger drivers and people who are learning to drive by showing how to correctly drive and knowing the rules of the road can help caution yourself from accidentally breaking them and causing crashes or worse getting in a crash yourself. Another step that we can take to reduce deaths while driving are stricter laws of the road and higher fines for breaking laws of the road. Highering the cost of fines for breaking the rules of the road and discourage people who break the laws of the road and are willing to take the fine knowing that they can pay it off easy and that it won’t affect them.
At a young age me and my family were in a car stopped at a traffic light. Me and my brother were asleep in the backseat of the car and my Dad was driving. While we were sitting at the traffic light we were rear ended by a bus. We didn’t get hit super bad but it was a car crash I experienced. I believe that my dad is a very responsible driver and abides by the rules of the road and knows how to drive correctly. Another car crash experience I faced was in 8th grade when our bus was on route to drop us off. At a turn a car got unexpectedly close to and hit the mirror on our bus. THe accident wasn’t that major but due to protocol our bus pulled over. Also because of protocol we had to all stay on the bus for about 30-40 minutes and wait for another bus to come. We had a fire truck come and check if we were all okay. Although some of us hated it, we had to stay on the hot bus and for 30-40 minutes we all complied and followed protocol. These are the only 2 car crash experiences I have been a part of.
Some steps that can be taken to to better yourself as a safe driver and help others to become safer on the road are helping each other to learn how to drive correctly by studying the rules of the road, how to drive correctly, and precautions you can take to prevent car accidents. Some ways you can do this is to read the book of driving that contains the rules of the road, precautions you need to take for driving, and how driving works and the right of way and things to the effect of that. Another step you can take to better yourself to become a safe driver is hours and hours of practice. With a licensed driver or supervising adult you can practice your driving in a safe area like a parking lot or around your neighborhood practicing driving. THese are some of the steps that I believe can help better yourself to become a better driver and protect yourself and the lives of other people on the road.
