Driving for Yourself and Others
Driving was not always an option for me, but I can attest firsthand how important it is to be safe while doing so. I am now a 42-year-old mother with a young child.
However, I did not start driving until the age of 31 years old. When I was younger, I suffered from Petit Mal seizures, so I never thought that I would be driving in a million years.
With driving comes great responsibility. I had many EEGs before I started driving. I was cleared from having seizures four years prior to driving and continue to make sure that they are not active, or out of remission.
Needless to say, I love driving because now I can transport my elderly loved ones around. I also do sub-contracting for groceries and food delivery on demand. While driving it is important to watch and pay close attention to traffic. Some of the steps to take to becoming a great driver is always know the safest route to take and avoid busy hours of the day. By doing this you narrow the chances of getting into an accident by preparing for safe travel. Another issue that is concerning is people hitting their brakes. Riding one to two cars distance is a good thing.
Keeping the phone on the mount in eye view if you must use navigation doing rideshare or delivery is a limital safe option. Texting and driving are never safe or should be taken lightly. Safety belts are for the safety of everyone, this includes your children, yourself, and passengers. Putting on lip gloss and make up should always be put on prior to leaving the house or while freshening up in the restroom. Driving is a privilege, enjoyable, and also a way for me to make a living. With this hobby comes great responsibility. Always, be alert, resourceful, and aware of the mental state of the brain before driving because all of these factors are crucial when you are behind the wheel. The road is a wide resource to open adventures and possibilities. Remarkably remember, you are not behind the wheel of everyone but driving for everybody.
Drinking and driving is never a cool thing to do. No matter how little a person had little had to drink. Having a designated driver is never a bad idea if drinking is in the plans at a function. As a matter of fact, making sure that being put in a position where feeling like having to drive is the only option for leaving someone at home or an establishment is a resort then staying put is not such a bad idea. One thing that experience has taught me is that if you do not have a safe way back from the trip you planned with your friends is, question if your circle really your friends. Sometimes, people are there for a good time, but not there for moral support. Making responsible decisions is always a part of the safe driving process. A person may seem like they are going to go without looking, then let them go. It may even be a couple of rude drivers out and there is an urgent event or appointment that needs to be met by a deadline or certain time. However, indulging in road rage is not the way to go because the next person may have had an even worse day or mentally unstable. There are so many subjects that should be accounted for while driving. Stressing the importance of how behavior and driving corelate is very important.
Saying that it is everyone’s job to pay attention on the road is ludicrous because an individual is responsible for their own actions, and everyone is not going to pay attention on the road. As seemingly great as that would be, no one does that in reality. Subtracting distractions, adding responsibility, multiplying safety mechanisms, and dividing your time with caring friends and less associates will save lives.
Consideration for others is not only responsible, but it is kind. This essay is for each person individually, not as a whole. This message is simple: Although I have not been driving long, I enjoy it and feel sometimes this privilege is taken for granted. One thing that I have learned is that it is not possible for you to drive everyone’s car. However, it is possible for me to do my part……
I continue and will continue to not just drive for me, but for everyone on the road.
Having this mentality may save someone’s life you love as well as yours.
