Life Is Too Short So Drive Safe
2
Obtaining a driver’s
license would remarkably be one of the best days of your life
especially if you had a car waiting for you on your driveway ready
for an adventure. When I first got my license, I was extremely
excited to explore around the beautiful city I call home with some of
my amazing friends. During the first few months of having a license,
I was very confident in myself to the point where I was so sure that
I would never get into any car accidents until later on by the end of
summer.
September
was the month I got involved in a horrifying car accident. It all
began when my friends and I decided to have a small bonfire at one of
my friend’s houses just to hang out with each other. During the
bonfire I decided to go get some snacks from the local store up the
street when three of my friends decided to tag along as well. After
we finally gathered all our snacks, we decided to go pick up another
friend of mine from his house so he can come with us to the bonfire.
Once we picked him up, I began to drive down a hill in the
neighborhood where all of the sudden I lost control of my car to
where the steering wheel began to shake. As soon as the steering
wheel began to shake, the car started swerving until I crashed into a
parked car.
At that moment, I
froze into my seat thinking to myself how could this have happened to
me. I remember hearing the windshield cracking and the panic in all
of our voices as we all got out of the car for safety. Thankfully in
the end, my friends were all okay with slight injuries and no one was
seriously hurt but I never forgave myself for putting their lives in
danger. I apologized to my family, my friends, their parents and the
owner of the car I ran into promising that I can make it up to them
somehow. I am completely blessed that my friends are still my friends
and that we are all alive after everything that has happened to us.
Ever since then, I have become more alert and careful when it comes
to driving because I never want to go through it again to the point
where it may cost one’s life.
