Driving Safely

Anyone that goes through a well done Driver’s Education program becomes a much safer driver on the road. They learn how to predict another driver’s movements, learn how to be predictable to other drivers, avoid certain distractions, be free from intoxications, and ofcourse, obey traffic laws. With all these learnings combined, drivers who studied under a good program will be guaranteed to be the safest drivers on the road. The only way to reduce driver deaths on the road is simple, teach our young and new drivers proper education, and make driver’s education required. Making this education required nationwide will reduce the amount of fatal crashes, lower the amount of people driving intoxicated, and make the road safer for everyone. This education teaches drivers where to put themselves in traffic, how to see traffic differently, how to operate your vehicle in different scenarios, and how to develop good driving habits.

I haven’t had firsthand experience with being in a car crash; however, my life would have never happened due to a near fatal accident. While I was still in my mother’s womb, a truck driver lost control during a snowstorm and nearly hit my family head on. Luckily, my dad was able to react swiftly to get the vehicle to steer clear from the incoming truck. Without my dad’s quick thinking, my parents may have passed and I would cease to exist. My dad used his knowledge of Driver’s Education to realize what he needs to do to quickly get out of the way of an incoming vehicle, while correcting his own skid through the snow. Driver’s Education is so important for our safety on the road that I believe this education should be included with our education in school. This will ensure our students will get the correct knowledge they need to get on the road and not only keep themselves safe, but others on the road safe as well.

Driver’s Education is something that will ensure everyone’s safety on the road and should be included with our core education in school. It will reduce the total number of deaths caused by driving dramatically since our driver’s will know the proper way to go through traffic, how to operate the vehicle safely and correctly, and how to develop good driving habits that exhibit safety. With all of these combined, we can ensure that you and your peers on the road can safely reach their destinations.
