Importance of Driving

Transportation is something that most people need in their daily lives. Many people drive their vehicle to get from point A to B. People are typically highly focused on the road and everything around them when driving. Driving is something expected that majority of people have a high education in driving despite the real difficulties. In order to be safe behind the wheel, people can not split their attention between driving and other activities.

Driving is a necessity, driving can get a person to school or work. When it comes to a person getting their license, they can not just get behind the wheel and start driving. Many people have to take account all the safety laws and driving hazards in the road. For example, if a person was driving on the highway and coming upon a red light and still had time to slow down and stop, but instead they decided to speed up, then they could have caused a wreck. If another person could have gone, because their light was green, then that could have result in serious injury or even death. Also, wearing a seatbelt is very important because it can help keep a person safe and secured in the vehicle when crashed. If everyone is paying attention the laws properly and safety driving, then the death rates would decrease extremely.

In order to cut the number of deaths is to not be distracted and to make sure that the rules are being followed correctly. It only takes one second to be distracted and crashed. The driver may look at the phone to respond to a text message and end up killing themselves or someone else. Cell phones can be a disadvantage when driving, because the driver can see their parents, and they may feel like they are obligated to answer the phone anytime they call, but when they pick up the phone the driver is putting their lives in danger. Being sober is very critical as well, because no one who is drunk or have been drinking should not be behind the wheel at all. When a driver is drunk, and they get behind the wheel they are not thinking clearly, and they are putting their lives and everyone else’s at risk. This is similar to sleeping while driving, it is important that the driver is well-rested before they enter the driver seat. They can not get in the car tired because they can fall asleep and veer off the road and kill someone. For instance, the driver can be sleepy and start to doze off on the highway, and without paying attention there could be a person riding their bike on the side of the road. If the driver closes their eyes for just a second, then they could end up hitting the bicyclist, and they could end up dying. Drunk and driving while being sleepy are two most dangerous tasks that anyone could do they can do, because they result in death. Many people are dying due to the driver actions. I have been in a car accident before due to the other driver pulling out from the side road. My mom was driving, and I was on the passenger, and the car hit my side coming out from the side road. It was the other’s driver fault due to her being on her phone and that’s why she pulled out too early and ended up hitting us. Due to the other driver hitting us and it being her fault, my mom and I suffered little injuries.

A few things I can do to make sure that I am a safe and good driver by paying close attention to my surroundings, and having a steady speed. When I am driving I am not only looking at the road, but I am also looking at the objects around whether if it is a guy barbecuing or a person walking their dog. It is good to make that I am focusing on my surroundings because anyone can come out into the road and get hurt badly. I can help others learn more about driving safely by talking about all the risks and have the audience have a good understanding on what can happen if they are not driving responsibly.

Overall, any driver should have the right knowledge/education on driving safely, because anything can happen if the driver is not paying attention. The driver has to pull on their attention on the road and what’s going on around them, and that includes them not being on the cell phones are looking at themselves in the mirror. Everyone needs to understand the meaning of driving safe and the consequences the driver can suffer because they can kill themselves or someone else’s. No one deserves to die because a person behind the wheel is irresponsible.
