For
thousands of years, in pursuit of comfort and happiness people have
made influential technical developments. Among the developments, the
invention of car led humanity closer towards death. A car is
initially made to help people moving from distant places easily in
short time. Theoretically providing comfort to human, a car is
supposed to increase well-being and life span. In contrast, a number
of people are dying in a car accident daily. In this context, I am
raising questions like what has contributed to the increasing rate of
death due to a car accident and as a result what makes a safe driver
in today’s society.
Ideally,
the car should be only used as a transportation. However, either new
drivers or people who have been driving for a lifetime can become
careless or inattentive for many reasons and at any point. Every year
around more than 30,000 people are dying from a car accident since
2005. Especially irresponsible drivers are poorly aware of the
consequences of being a driver. It is very critical to have a mindset
for a driver by prioritizing a safety as number one. Even though one
is an expert, reeducation through reminding of the safety can be
helpful.
Furthermore,
constant management of a car is essential to a safe driving. When I
was twelve years old, I saw a car accident. The car hit a pregnant
woman because the brake of the car was broken surprisingly and the
woman died. The driver might have not imagined this a minute ago
because he was supposedly a careful driver. It was truly just an
accident. He was a careful driver but he was not at the same time.
Thus, as a car driver, one must check car regularly. It will be too
late if we wait until the car broke. As well, this accident could
have been prevented if he took charge of the car’s maintenance
regularly.
Other
than education and management of car, there are many things one can
do to lessen car accident. When drivers are in seat, people who are
sharing the car must not disturb drivers. Also, non-drivers should be
aware of the outcomes of driving under the influence of drugs, not
wearing a seatbelt or drivers’ being on the phone. Things have
value only when people perform their actions. To keep the value of
the car and the life of citizens, everyone should act responsibly.
