Driving safe is
talked about in almost every school around. But that doesn’t mean
those new drivers know about the cause and effect of their
irresponsibility. This essay will shed some light to anyone that may
read.

Drivers ed
classes are an amazing resource for soon to be drivers that need
questions answered or advise in what they can do to be safer behind
the wheel. The drivers ed classes help reduce the number of
deaths from driving by showing young adults how to be aware, what
happens when they aren’t aware while driving, and what to do in
certain situations. It’s all a way of preparing as much as possible.

Ultimately, the
best way to prevent car accidents in general is by putting the phone
down. Even at the stop light, everyone around you is texting and not
watching. It is so easy to be distracted these days but there are
even easier ways of preventing car related deaths. What’s more
important, that friend you want to text, or the life of yourself and
others?

I have been in
one car wreck. It wasn’t too bad, no one was hurt but it was still
scary. We decided to drive on an icy day, which was not the best
choice. But the driver was on his phone or looking around at other
things all the time and I wanted to say something but I never did. I
should have spoke up. I hope I get through to you, the reader, to
speak up and possibly prevent having it happen to you because it
could have been so much worse in my case.

There are many
apps for phones that basically turn off your notifications while you
are on the road. It’s a life saver. We also have our own consciences,
no one seems to realize that. You have the choice to put down the
phone, you have the choice to watch the road and the people around
you, you have the choice to keep people safe.

Keeping our roads
safe, being the example for the next generations, saving lives, and
making these decisions on your own, that is what matters and that’s
what I, what you, what everyone needs to understand. It all starts
with you.
