In the Driver’s Seat

What
do you have to know before driving? Did you say just knowing how to
operate the vehicle? Driving consist of more important things other
than physically getting behind the wheel and driving. For example,
like a drivers ed. One of the reasons being is because
drivers ed can reduce or minimize the number of deaths
resulting from driving. Driving education is important in dealing
with the number of driving– related deaths reducing because if
people are more aware and knowledgeable about driving education, they
wouldn’t make the regular or common mistakes that unaware people
make which cause less car accidents death and this will cause the
population to increase. Also, you know better you will don’t better
so if you understand or was informed about drivers ed you know
what you should and shouldn’t do because you will be conscious.
Some steps that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths relating
to driving are staying out the fast lane (no speeding), being alert
and mindful of and trying to avoid threats and/or blind spots
(motorcycles and bikers are one of the main threats), driving with
proper hand position and seating position ( 9 and 3 o’clock is
best), judge a driver of their car’s condition, knowing, being
comfortable with, maintaining and your car, and being extremely
cautious at nighttime ( most accident occur at night ). Even though I
have never been in a car accident because I follow the steps and take
proper precautions, I have been in high risk on being in a car
accident by being in the car with irresponsible drivers who was
speeding, switch lanes excessively, turning on right before getting
over, and doing other things that are against the law. The things
listed are not characteristics of things that a safe driver does,
it’s characteristics of a reckless driver. Some steps that safe
drivers should or driver that want to be safer take would consist of
being focused, being defensive, planning ahead, and practicing
safety. Being Focused is putting one hundred percent of attention on
driving and not attempting to multi -task, not using your phone or
any other electronic device , which included texting, calling,
scrolling on social media, etc. (the only legal way to use your is
the hand free feature but it still should be avoid because it still
cause a distraction). Focusing, also, included paying attention your
speed because speeding gives you less time to react which increase
the cruelty of the accident. Defensive driving is paying attention to
your surrounding (like other cars, pedestrians, construction workers,
etc.), assume that motorists are doing to do something incorrect or
insane, and keeping a two to four second space between vehicles.
Planning mean look thirty seconds ahead of you, making a travel
schedule, before driving off try to adjust your seat, mirrors, and
temperature and try to eat or drink. Practicing safety is wearing
seat belt, driving sober, following laws, and not reach for objects
while driving.
