The
importance of drivers ed in reducing the number deaths as a
result of driving?

According
to World Health Organization,
there
were 1.25 million road traffic deaths globally in 2013. According to
studies, results
showed
that the drivers who had taken a drivers ed course were involved
in fewer crashes: 11.1% of the drivers ed group, as opposed to
12.9% of those who hadn’t taken a course, had been involved in a
crash (I drive safely, 2019).

Lots
of people died every day because they lack knowledge in how to drive
safely. Therefore, taking a training will help reducing number of
deaths by reinforcing the best practices such as distraction-free,
driving tips, and helps to keep all of us alert and safe on the
roads.
Not
only does a good driver ed thoroughly cover each state’s
traffic laws, it actually helps new drivers learn the skills that are
essential to the safe operation of a car – skills that may help a
driver maneuver his or her way out of an accident.

What
steps can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving?

A
car accident, also known as a car crash, road accident is the
condition that one vehicle collides with another vehicle causes
injury of a person or the damage of property but some, such head-on
collision, it can kill you immediately. Some steps are useful:

  1. Avoiding
    Distraction:
    Distraction
is one of the leading causes of car accidents. You should not take a
call or text on a cell phone or talk with your friends when you are
driving that can be dangerous distractions because they can take
    your focus off the road.

  2. Avoid
Using Alcohol and Drugs before you drive: because alcohol and drugs
can disrupt accurate judgments, slow down reflectors and lead to
mental alertness to dip so that you should not use alcohol and drugs
that help you remain conscious when driving on the road.

  3. Reduce
your speed or maintain it to normal according to rules:
    You
always remember to keep a rein on your speed. You are likely to need
to lower the speed while on narrow roads, hilly areas, rural areas,
nearing schools and poor visibility. Besides, you need to follow the
posted speed limit. Therefore, it is crucial to learn speed
management that helps in facing a variety of environments.

  4. Stay
in your lane: Defensive driving means letting others go ahead of you
and not defending your position in traffic. Avoid the urge to be a
vigilante and stay away from weaving and cutting others off by
    sticking to your lane.

  5. Drive
with both hands on the wheel: Two hands on the wheel allow you more
control over the car if an emergency were to arise.

  6. Seat
    Belts Use:
    Besides,
according to statistic, 63% people who died in the accident had not
trapped on their seat belts (prevent car accident, 2017). Seat belts
protect the internal organs in a crash because it restrains the
forward movement of the body to a great extent. It is the necessary
tip on how to prevent car accidents that you should know to avoid
    car accidents.

  7. Use
your signals properly: Always use your signal, even if you think no
one is there. When changing lanes on the freeway, don’t signal as an
afterthought or during the lane change. Signal at least a couple of
seconds in advance so others know what you’re going to do before you
do it and can account for your actions should there be an issue.

  8. Keep
your eyes moving: Don’t get in the habit of staring at the back of
the car ahead of you. Periodically shift your eyes to the side-view
mirrors, the rear-view mirror, and ahead to where you’ll be in 10-15
seconds. Doing this, you can spot a potentially dangerous situation
    before it happens.

  9. Don’t
drive when you’re tired, whether it’s night or not: When you’re
tired (especially if you fall asleep easily or have narcolepsy),
your reaction time is impaired. Your brain isn’t firing on all
cylinders and you drive on autopilot, unable to take in all the
stimuli around you. When that happens, you are more likely to put
yourself in a dangerous situation without even realizing it.

  10. Keeping
Your Car Safe: You can apply whatever to help you prevent car
accident but if your car is not in good condition, the tips you
apply that do not work. Therefore, you should keep your car in good
    condition.

Have
you ever had an experience of being in car accident or have seen your
friends or family members driving irresponsibly?

Yes,
I experienced a car accident. But it was a minor incident. That was
when i started driving. Being a new driver with lest experience, i
took my brother’s car to do some practice. I ended in a light
collision with another car at the parking lot. It was so frustrating
for me. Since then, i never had the courage to drive again.

  • What
steps can you take to be a better and safer driver as well as help
others become safer on the road?

become a better and safer driver, you should: Keep to the speed
limits, adjust your driving accordingly, don’t tailgate, look
