Importance of Driving Safely

You never know when it will be your last day and it can be even scarier to imagine that you can lose your life on your way to the grocery store. It is extremely important to understand the importance of driver education in order to save lives. It may not seem very important, but it can happen to anyone. If everyone learns how to drive with caution and with the one hundred percent focus that it needs then we can avoid large crashes and even loss of animals. There are many rules that not many people know about because they do not follow up on the drivers ed books. And if there are any questions to go to your local DMV and just ask. Especially for specific scenarios. 

An automobile is built for safety while driving. It has seat belts, brakes, turn signals, and more. All for the greater purpose of our safety. The first step may be for people to actually utilize what they give us. Then we can learn the laws and procedures of the road. It is very important to analyze your surroundings and know when it is safe to merge on the highway or use your turn signals. No one is a mind reader so we have no way of knowing who is going to turn when or where. Actually stopping at stop signs and not just pause and go. If we practice these even when there is no one else around, then we can build that habit and improve our driving safety. And to actually follow the speed limit because it is there for a reason. If we exceed that, then it can cause the automobile to lose control or if an animal crosses in front of you it can cause a huge accident.

I personally have experienced my first, and hopefully last, car crash. It was honestly very scary because in the moment, I was scared for my life. It scared my parents when I had to call them and everyone around me rushed to my safety because I got hit the worst. Luckily, I was fine and was only left with a bruise but it really made me become an extra careful driver, even when it was not my fault. That can also be very scary. You may be the best driver and take all the precautions and do what you are supposed to do. But not everyone else. You may have to fear others around you, driving and not one likes to live in fear. I know it took me months to even trust others around me driving. 

I also have seen my parents and those close to me be irresponsible and growing up, I did not think much of it because they’re my parents. Parents are supposed to be the ones setting an example for us kids, so to me I thought they knew everything. It wasn’t until I got my license and my accident how irresponsible they can be. It came to a point that I was suggesting they slow down or to use their turn signals because one never knows what could happen. I think it takes people to realize how important it is to drive safely when something bad happens. I know my family also took caution after my accident because they saw first hand what could happen and it was scary.

I know I could always improve on my driving because I don’t even remember the last time I read the drivers manual. I can start there and reread it and learn more about what to do in specific situations and advise those around me to also do so too. To preach to anyone about how important it is to drive carefully and utilize our resources in our vehicles. That if you are tired, to pull over and rest especially when one has been driving for hours on end. To not drive under the influence because that is the biggest problem we have around the world. If we see a car with hazard lights on the side of the highway, to merge to the next lane so that if the person in it gets out, they do not have to worry about getting hit by a car. To follow the speed limit and not race because the road is not a race track. We have to make it known how this can impact us for the better if we just follow the laws and rules of the road. We can save hundreds of lives because no one wants to lose a life if they are on their way to work, home, or even just to the grocery store.
