My reason

Driver’s education provides both the skills and knowledge needed to become a competent, confident motorist who understands defensive driving techniques. Driver’s education has also been shown to lower rates of both accidents and citations among teen drivers. There are few things more critical in today’s world than new drivers staying smart and alert behind the wheel and getting to their destination safe and sound. Recent crash reports show that young drivers have very high crash rates. Driver safety is taught in drivers’ ed programs, which can lower the number of fatal car accidents.

According to data from the World Health Organization, men are more likely than women to be injured in auto accidents. Nearly three quarters (73%) of all road traffic fatalities are young males under the age of 25, and they have almost three times the risk of dying in a traffic crash than young females. Not all drivers are younger and have a higher crash risk. Age-related changes in the body and mind can increase the risk of car accidents. As we age, our vision changes in a few different ways. Glaucoma is one of the eye diseases that inevitably worsens with age. Additionally, certain eye disorders that impair vision, such as cataracts and age-related macular degeneration, are more common in older adults. Problems distinguishing an object from its background, called contrast sensitivity, are also common.

However, passing the driving test is not the primary or only goal of driver education and training programs. Teaching the necessary skills is. Producing “safer” drivers is the main objective of many, if not most, driver education and training programs. It’s critical to maintain focus, drive carefully, obey traffic signals, and promote these driving safety precautions to friends and family to lower the number of driving-related fatalities. Never forget to fasten your seatbelt; limit the number of passengers Don’t drive at night too much. For starters, go slowly and safely. Prepare for bad weather by training. Operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and other psychoactive substances or drugs raises the possibility of an accident leading to fatalities or severe injuries. Another important factor that can reduce the number of deaths related to driving is making sure we have good mental health. When we feel different emotions, it can affect our driving abilities. For example, studies have shown that drivers who are angry or stressed are more likely to get into accidents. This is because these emotions can interfere with our ability to focus and make split-second decisions. Road rage and drowsy driving can be decreased by reducing fatigue, which can be brought on by insomnia, depression, or anxiety. Furthermore, playing with cellphones is not the only thing that causes drivers to divert their attention from the road. You can lose focus when applying makeup, looking for a dropped object, or tinkering with the radio. When driving, turn off your phone and wait to make last-minute changes to your appearance or pick up dropped objects until you reach your destination.

Due to careless driving, my uncle recently sustained six fractures to his skull, multiple brain bleeds, a shattered femur, and unidentified bran damage. He was intoxicated when he crossed a four-lane highway without yielding. He cannot walk or feed himself. His journey ahead of him is going to be difficult and long. But because of his careless driving, my family is also suffering in addition to him. It’s crucial for drivers to keep in mind that their loved ones back home are eager to see them again. Beyond just us, other people are impacted by our decisions. Being careless with our actions puts us at risk of hurting not just ourselves but also other people.

To do my part as a safer driver I plan on keeping my focus on the road. I can’t change how others drive but I can do my part to be vigilant, patient and maintain good mental health. I was involved in a minor accident because I did not pay attention to traffic devices in a construction zone. I assumed the other car had a blinking red light because she stopped when she stopped because she was confused with the construction. Unfortunately, we both went at the same time. Following my accident, I took a defensive driving course that not only reeducated me but reminded me that making smart decisions on the road is my duty as a citizen. The person driving behind, in front and on the road with you is someone’s loved one. Driving responsibly can not only save your life, but it can save the lives of thousands of other people.
