To help decrease the number of road accidents, implementing a driver education program with classes around the country would help lessen the rates of occurrences. These classes would be vastly better if they were to go beyond the basics of driving and delve into more complex techniques and traffic rules. To get people to volunteer to take this class, some incentives would be best. Such as lowering the insurance rates of people who have taken the classes as well as offering some classes for free or at a low cost.

Besides the reasons stated above, a way to decrease the number of incidents would be related to the advanced driving help system. The system helps warn of potential collisions and emergency braking. If insurance offered this to many of the customers at a lower rate or for free, the number of collisions would decrease. Another way to help promote the system would be to require car manufacturers to have the same system or similar systems that can help in emergencies. Even though some older cars would not get the system, the new cars would be improved and better equipped to handle issues on the road.

Finally, by increasing efforts to stop reckless driving, the likelihood of drivers driving recklessly would decrease. They would text and call other people. Because of that, I noticed they were not paying attention to the road. It could have caused an accident, which almost happened, but they noticed and avoided it. However, it is likely that they could cause or be involved in a collision if they are not careful in the future.

Although new, unexperienced drivers take driving education classes, it would be best if they continued to learn about the best way to handle a situation on the road. Luckily, humans are great at learning and understanding how to correct issues. With that in mind, encouraging drivers to invest in their future safety on the road is extremely important. With new technology, there are multiple ways to hold classes. There does not have to be only in-person classes for basic knowledge that people can learn from home. Using remote learning methods, it can increase the number of people able to attend classes and improve their driving skills. Even just updating the students’ knowledge of new traffic rules would help. Updating cars with improved technology can also help with decreasing car collisions. I have kept up with the changing laws of traffic. I try to keep myself educated on the traffic laws I must know to drive safely.

Even verbally encouraging drivers to take the courses would help increase the likelihood of a decreasing car accident rate. I set an example for people surrounding me in everyday life by obeying the traffic laws as well as using seat belts. I do not allow my car to be driven without knowing everyone has their seat belt on, since it can save lives. I openly talk about being responsible when driving around family members and friends so that they are comfortable with me driving.
