Driver’s education and safety
The importance of driver education is to reduce the amounts of death and accidents is to teach people the safety of driving on the road. It also shows you how to be aware about your surroundings and the hazardous of street safety. Street signs, streetlights, and tainted streets also teach people how to efficiently read and follow road rules. The steps in reducing number of deaths are to stop drunk driving. Most accidents are caused by drunk driving, and this could stop by heavily punishing those who do this. Another one is using the phone while driving. An experience I had about this is when me and my family we were on our way back home from my cousin’s birthday party, and this guy who was drunk driving crashed into us. Luckily, we were all okay and broken glass landed on us. The drunk guy kept making up excuses and stuff and unfortunately no charges were pressed on him. Another example that causes a lot of accidents is people pay more attention to their phone than on the road. Eyes should be on the road and always look around other cars and if they are passing by or if you need to pass through. The experiences I have myself driving is that one time is when I was driving on the freeway it was my first time and I was really nervous. It was late at night and there were so many cars. I forgot what to do and what to have on all I did was drive straight. Nobody droves at the speed limit every car went a different speed. My dad told me to switch lanes and to get out of there. Every time I tried to leave the lane, I never had the chance and then I realized that I needed my blinkers on. When I tried to figure out where the blinkers are at (I knew where to turn it on I was just panicking at the moment so I forgot) and I got it to turn on and in front of me I almost crashed into the car in front of me and I did a hard turn to the right and I ended up switching lanes and getting out of the freeway. I don’t know how lucky I got, but it was probably one of the only experiences that ruined driving for me, but it was completely my fault. From this lesson I learned that I need to remain calm and know what to do on the road. I can’t have another situation like that where I put myself and others in danger, I need to improve better as a driver in order to face real challenges like that in the world. I’ve seen my 17-year-old cousin drive around. She has a license and drives good, but the main problem was that she was texting and calling the entire time. A while later she needed to text her friend that she was on her way to her house, and I had to tell her to look up she is about to crash into a pole. We barely crashed into the pole, but we did go forward, and my cousin was shocked and didn’t use her phone all the way till she made it to her friend’s house. The steps into becoming a better driver myself and to help with the safety of others is to understand road rules. Understand how my car works and get adjusted to it. Look for patterns of the cars and look at your surroundings. Try not to use my phone while driving and let other people I’m in the car with not to text or call while driving. Also, when they start drinking, to encourage them to stop drinking for it can affect the safety of them and other passengers in the vehicle. Overall, everyone including I need to be self-aware of what we are doing while driving. If you don’t know how to drive, I encourage you not to take on the wheel. Know what road signs are and what they mean and look ahead of what other stuff you need to pay attention to. Don’t let others use their phones while driving unless if its an emergency. Don’t also let the driver start drunk driving. Don’t do these two stuffs for it can cause a problem for your safety and any passengers in your car. The importance of driver’s education is important for the safety of everyone.
