The importance of driving education should be taken with utmost seriousness because driving education creates certain habits that aren’t reinforced when people don’t take driving education. I believe that driving education should be free so that safely driving could be a norm and spread widely around the world. People who don’t take driving education are more than likely to slack and create bad habits that are likely to affect others when driving. Looking at the statistics of deaths by driving, show that people have no discipline and that is from being taught from home instead of receiving a formal education on the topic and this leads to the increasing deaths. The state of Illinois has signs posted on the highways that tell the number of deaths that happen each year due to people texting or making mistakes while driving. I think that if people receive adequate driving education, many deaths could be avoided. The amount of deaths by irresponsible driving is too high, and this shows that driving education should be a school requirement around the world because it teaches them the importance of safety. To reduce the number of deaths I believe that people should first be taught about driver education at a younger age to ensure they will have an idea about what it is and the seriousness of it and this is so that it can be reinforced within them and be built within their young foundation. Further tests could be taken before one should be on the road like mental checks and physical checks, not just the one driving test. I believe people’s mentality and physical ability should be a factor on whether or not they could drive because people’s thinking could affect the way they react on the road and physical ability could also affect because what if they were weak and not able to drive with the utmost efficiency. Another way to help people take driver education seriously in the United States is to have a system like Spain. In Spain, if someone has an infraction, the country deducts points from their license. And if the driver loses a certain amount of points, the driver receives a ticket or loses their license for a certain period of time. I believe that this would motivate people to drive safer and encourage them to take driving education seriously. Yes, My biological father passed away due to a car accident when I was 4 years old a month before my birthdate. It was allegedly caused by my supposed godfather and he served time for it. I was young so I never knew how he passed and found out on my own and I was surprised reading the article because it said they were chasing another car and crashed and hit a pole and at that moment I realized why we released balloons at that specific pole and was hurt. This event of reckless driving lost me a father and a godfather because after that I never really spoke to my godfather or never really saw him. This shows how one event of driving recklessly can heavily impact your life but people chose to drive irresponsibly. Even people I know drive irresponsible on different occasions and I find this interesting because they drive like this because they react to their emotions and start driving recklessly, possibly impacting others on the road. This is why I would want people to get a mentality check before being able to get on the road because driving could impact your emotions and if you aren’t able to control your emotions effectively you will react and start driving recklessly. There are many steps you can take to be a better/safer driver but I would suggest you take driving lessons and further research on how you could drive safer and even learn on your own if you could. You can also try to understand your emotions and that reacting to people doesn’t make the situation better but blinds you and affects everyone else. You can understand the roads thoroughly and pay attention to the people driving around you and also understand you aren’t driving for yourself but for the people around you. Safety also depends on what you deem safe, like if you want to avoid accidents or hurting people then you shouldn’t drive in ways that aren’t familiar like going above a speed you can’t control or driving in a place that isn’t familiar unless you have a gps or a willingness to get better.
