The importance of safe driving
The importance of driver education is to help the students learn the skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed for driving safely on the road. My parents used to have this class in school when they were in high school. It was a whole semester. There were simulators, tests, and driving with an instructor. Now, we have to take the course online and our parents teach us, unless you want to spend a lot of money on a driving school.I think taking the course in school instead of doing it online better prepares you for safe driving. We can reduce the number of deaths and accidents if drivers would be more attentive to cars and go the speed limit. I see so many people texting and driving.I don’t know why people still do that. All the statistics and studies that have been done. I haven’t been in a car accident, however, the majority I see are from taking your attention off the road and talking and texting. Sometimes I get on to my dad. He likes to play music off his phone and looks at it driving sometimes. I won’t play my radio or even look at my phone while driving. So many accidents can be prevented. If we all would follow the rules and speeds that are set and have full attention at all times. Why don’t drivers wear their seat belts all the time? That’s another leading cause why we have so many deaths in car accidents. A lot of teen accidents are due to the attitude of the person driving. So many are not mature enough and shouldn’t be driving yet just because they are of age.
Some teens drink and drive and cause accidents. I don’t think a young driver should have more than one passenger. Any more than that affects your attention to driving. Also, if possible, limit your driving at night. There are more accidents at night time. Most drivers are also not careful in bad weather conditions. If you’re not an experienced driver, this can lead to accidents. Drive slow and leave plenty of room between you and other drivers. Be careful not to hydroplane or you can lose control of your vehicle. It’s scary driving. You don’t know the experience of other drivers and if they are distracted. Not only do you have to pay attention to what you’re doing, but all the other drivers also. Some specifics to adhere to: Buckle up, make sure you and your passengers are wearing their seatbelts, never drive impaired, avoid alcohol and drugs, drive attentively, avoid cell phones, CD’s and drinks. Drive defensively, and share the road. We all need to have respect for each other on and off the road. In case you do get into an accident, make sure you know what to do. Make sure to exchange information with the other person and always respect the police officer. They are there to protect you, not hurt you. Always be truthful with the officer and explain exactly what happened. Driving is a privilege not a right, as my parents always say. It is true. Just because you are old enough to drive, doesn’t mean the teen is ready to. I actually think the age should be when you’re 18. I think you are a little more mature than a 15 or 16 year old. You should be older because you have more maturity and take it more seriously. Not all do, but I think you’re ready to learn and you’re not as reckless. I may be wrong, if not at 18, maybe even older. It’s crazy to see so many drivers at stop lights, or driving down the road, and you see them on their phones. I wish phones were banned to have in your vehicle. So many people are so hooked on their phones that they constantly check them. If it’s that important, why don’t they just pull over to the side of the road. Such carelessness. No regard for the other drivers. When I leave school, and try to exit the parking lot, it makes me nervous. So many students are driving crazy and speeding through the parking lot. I usually wait until the majority has left, before pulling out of my parking space. These kids should not be on the road yet. They drive so crazy. Again, it’s usually young guys that are way too immature to be driving. Anyways, these are just my thoughts. I just wish there were solutions. Thank you for your time and for listening to my opinion.
