Modern Driving Adaptation
For my childhood, I was informed of the dangers of my neighborhood roadways. For that time in my childhood years, I respected the roadways and took precautions whilst on them. In recent years I have found a passion for driving and I love driving, I trust myself in these dangerous conditions due to me understanding the risks of the road and what I can do to minimize them. I believe my knowledge of driving risks and understanding of common causes of vehicle related deaths can validate my views of driving risks.
Drivers’ education is an important piece of transportation information in the world. Drivers’ education is crucial to inform new and old drivers of new driving trends and what to look out for. Like other forms of education, drivers’ education is used to inform its students and to utilize that said information to make their own conclusion and resolutions. If the information is presented to allow the student to remember the information for as long as they drive to prevent accidents on their end. If all drivers understand the risks and take precautions to prevent them, then driving can be safer. To reduce deaths caused by driving, informing the public of decisions that cause these deaths is crucial to deter drivers from making similar decisions.
Increase in programs to inform inexperienced drivers earlier can allow them to fully understand these risks opposed to them being introduced to the information while they are on the streets. Traffic laws that deter negative/risky/dangerous driving behaviors can lower the cause of deaths in driving. Not only do traffic deaths occur to just vehicles but traffic deaths can also include pedestrians who are involved in accidents with vehicle present. Informing the general public and pedestrians, specifically children, can deter children from partaking in activities that place them in vehicular dangers. If we inform children of the risks and consequences of playing in streets, especially in busy streets, then we can lower the chance of them dying from a car accident. Although not all children really understand the reality of information presented to them, so more precautions shall be taken, one example being a pedestrian warning traffic sign. Traffic signs are typically used for trends in an area either for wildlife, natural occurrences, and even pedestrian trends, these signs are important for the driver to be aware of their surroundings and thus respond faster to events. Faster reactions from drivers and pedestrian deterrents can lower chances of deadly vehicle accidents.
I have experienced both car accidents and irresponsible driving, though, my experiences of car accidents are comparatively tame compared to more graphic and grim car accidents. I classify car accidents as involuntary, and unwanted vehicle contact. I have experienced a car accident which got me to bite my own lip and trickle some blood. I have not experienced many accidents and I can count on my fingers how many vehicles related accidents I have had, and I understand that not everyone is that fortunate. Contrary to what one may believe, my parents have both good and bad driving habits, my mom has safe driving habits but sometimes driving too safe can put us at risk, my father drives aggressively but knows when certain actions are appropriate and how to drive safely. I will say I am the middle of my two parents as I drive aggressively but do so carefully and strategically whilst having my mom’s sense of carefulness. I would say that a person’s ability to understand their vehicle and what their vehicle is capable of would change decisions that they make on the road, it certainly did for myself, I know what my car is and is not capable of. Although my time on the road is comparatively short compared to my parents, my driving skill and experience will prosper and increase the longer I drive. As I stated I have not experienced many car accidents, and none of these accidents occurred while I was the car operator.
I would say that a car operator must know their vehicle(s), the better they know their vehicle(s) the better they know their limitations on the public thoroughfares. I would also say that examining other drivers’ behaviors and predicting their actions can allow a driver to react faster to events that unfold on the roads. Understanding trends of the roads and predicting hazardous conditions and environments can allow a driver to make rational decisions to better coordinate their environment. If all drivers and the public become informed and educated, the roads can become much safer.
In conclusion, the roads can be a dangerous place for drivers and pedestrians, it is everyone’s responsibility to educate themselves to educate and keep themselves and others safe on the roadways. Though precautions can be taken in specific areas, other areas must have precautions to better the predictability of environments. If every driver knew their limitations, then there would be no issue of drivers taking unnecessary risks which put themselves and others in danger. As important as knowing your own limitations, reading and examining other drivers is important to understand their limitations and what you as a driver should look for and do in response.
