Safe on the Road
The importance of driver education in reducing the number death because of driving would be teaching safety. These classes provide all the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that all drivers need to understand and follow traffic rules, make informed decisions, and develop defensive driving techniques. These classes break down the laws, the signs, and rules on how to be an effective driver on the road. In whatever state that you are in all the rules are similar but different. The most important part that all states share is safety on the road. These classes promote responsible and safe driving practices, driver education contributes to creating a safer road environment and preventing accidents. When I went to these classes I was a young and inexperienced driver that needed to learn in a class setting; just reading got a little boring. I liked the fact that the classes were not just fun but full of information that was needed. I needed this class because I had no clue how to read signs or the importance of following driving directions. These classes were important because I wanted to do the right thing but didn’t know how.
There are many steps that must be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving. The first and most important steps are to be safe and alert. Pay attention to the signs and the sounds around you to know what is going on. You must know the traffic laws and enforce them. When you begin driving try to have a positive attitude and be happy to be on the road. Practice makes perfect and getting enough hour’s day and night. You are never too old to learn. Always wear your seatbelt no matter where you are going or how far. Try to limit driving at night because some people are driving and not paying attention. Do not use your phone while driving on the road; pay attention of what is going around you. Try not to drive during poor weather condition because of anything can happen. Do not drink and drive! You need to follow the speed limits as well because speeding is not the answer.
I have never been in an accident ever in my life; Thank God. I do have many friends that drive either too fast or never paying attention. I’ve only experienced a time where my friend has driving too fast in traffic when I was with him. It got to the point where I felt scared for him and for myself. He got pulled over a couple of times because of the speeding that he does. My friend was driving so fast one day in the rain and caused an accident. I remember getting the call when he was in the hospital because he hit a tree. He was texting and driving like he usually does when we are together. I would always tell him to pay attention, but he didn’t listen but now he has learned. My mom stopped letting me hang with him because of fear of stupidity.
It’s just unsafe to be driving fast like this as a teen. Parents don’t want to get a call talking about
the crash that occurred while their child was driving too fast. Even though they know driving too fast can create disasters.
There are several steps that can be taken to become a better and safer driver, as well as help others become safer on the road. Pay attention to traffic laws and avoiding distractions such as texting or phone calls. If you need to use the phone, then pull over to the side of the road to use it. Utilize your hands-free function if you need to make an emergency call. Try to maintain a safe distance from other vehicles and don’t ride on another car’s tail. Remember the 3-4 second rule! Try not to cut off driver just because they are driving too slow or too fast. Practicing defensive driving could contribute to a safer driving experience. Staying up to date on road safety regulations can also improve knowledge and skills related to driving. Always keep your seatbelt on and don’t remove it until the car is parked and off. If you are tired do not drive; take a nap before getting back on the road. Do not eat or drink while driving; cut out all distractions. Drive with two hands on the steering wheel and keep the music at a certain level. Stay alert, stay alive is what my mom will always say.
