Beyond Between the Lines

When we progress in life, we look forward to obtaining a paper that allows us to gain the independency of driving. While we gain this independence of driving, we need to learn the critical boundaries that come along with driving. One of the best ways drivers can learn the crucial roles of driving is taking a driver’s education course. Driver education courses allow us to know all the simple things about driving all the way to the more complex high-stressed situations. I am thankful for the driver’s education course that is offer through my high school. The driver’s education course also had qualified instructors for this course. Having qualified individuals for a very predominate role in our daily lives is immensely important to ourselves and other drivers on the roadways. Let us discuss the importance of driver’s ed because driving is more than between the lines.

While I was taking this course in high school, I learned so much about driving that I have since applied to my daily life as an adult now. I learned a lot about defensive driving that I use daily especially living in the middle of fields where there is an abundance of wildlife. I constantly must look ahead while planning in time so that way if a dear or a car comes out of nowhere, I can plan accordingly. In extreme cases I must plan for other accidents which I have had to do, sadly on more than one occasion. For these reasons driver’s education is more than between the lines it is defensive driving.

One of the steps we can take part in for lowering the death number is continuously educating ourselves on driver’s education. We forget or we get things confused with other things. One way to help us remember is education. I work in healthcare one of my requirements of my employer is continuous education. We want qualified caregivers to take care of us, right? I know all of us would agree, “yes” to this question. Thus, we should have qualified drivers on our roadways. To protect ourselves and everyone around us because driving is more than just between the lines, it is beyond this it is education.

It was March 26^th, 2022, some back story to this day I was going to an event with someone that works in the dental field. This event helps people in poverty to help obtain dental work that they need. Well, this someone I knew needed a ride home, I needed my wisdom teeth taken out. So, this allowed for a fair trade. They help take my wisdom teeth out I will allow them to drive my car because I could not drive. When it was time to go home, we got into the car and headed off. Made it onto the highway at this point. I am not someone who likes to deal with distracted drivers, especially in my own car. This person wanted to make video call, yes video call, their spouse to let them know we are head back to the house. I had no idea what exactly was going on until we were passing a semi on the highway while their phone was prompt up on the horn of my stirring wheel. I did not like this at all because they were driving super distracted, passing another huge vehicle, and driving my vehicle. This is an enormous reason as to why I do my best to not drive irresponsible. The way this event made me feel is not how I would want others to feel in or around me while driving.

Humans are always looking for ways to better a situation whether that be for themselves or a given situation. One of the ways I would love to better myself is to not have my music turned up so loud. I love music. I love to listen to it, as well as jam out to it. But I have the tendency to forget there is a time and place to have loud music. Driving is not one of those moments to have loud music. There was a moment I was driving, and I was not able to hear the sirens behind me. I was so embarrassed and mad with myself. Ever since that moment I leave my jam session to when I am cleaning the house.

In conclusion, driver’s education is an important roll when it comes to learning simple to the complexities of the roadways as well as how to deal with high stress situations. This is an important key roll with our daily lives as to most humans drive or take a transport system of some kind. We need to work together on educating ourselves and others around us help fight the war on driving because driving is more than between the lines, it is beyond that.
