Drivers Save Lives

When
any person is learning to drive it is important for that person to
not only learn about the signs on the road or the right way to make a
turn but also to learn that driving is a huge responsibility that
requires all of your focus in order to keep others and yourself safe.
Even though sometimes you may find yourself alone on the road being
safe is an important decision that you must make because the result
of reckless driving can be catastrophic. Any accident you have puts
you in danger of death or serious injury and it also puts others in
the same situation.

There
are various ways to reduce the number of deaths due to driving but
they all start with the decision to be safe and responsible. A
decision like staying in when there is really bad weather or the
decision to not let a drunk person drive home can save lives. In my
family having fun and drinking is a pretty common thing for adults,
but before they start to drink, everybody knows that there has to be
a designated driver. In other occasions my parents or uncles/aunts
will suggest that we all just stay over at their house. It is also
important to build up habits that reflect responsible driving.
Responsible habits may include, parking somewhere in order to take a
call/text, using the right techniques of turning your head when
backing up, and always checking for other drivers that may be
choosing to drive irresponsibly.

Another
really major way to be more of a better and safe driver is by taking
any Drivers Ed class. I’ve never taken any Drivers Ed class but
from what I have heard the programs do a great job at teaching people
the legal and most safest ways of traveling on the road. Also, as a
passenger you have the ability of making sure that your driver is
being safe. If you’re family member or friend is on their phone
while they’re driving make sure to take his or her phone away.
Always remember that driving is a huge privilege that requires
responsibility, so be responsible and don’t be the cause of someone
else’s or your own funeral.
