Drivers ed for All
Education is the
key to success in life in multiple areas. Being educated is how
people are led to make the right decisions, whether this is in
careers, travels, finances, or driving. People who are accustomed to
driving, will likely not change their ways; However, we can always
have hope. One step that I feel should be taken, is requiring
“Drivers ed Reinforcement.” As we get older and store
more knowledge in our brains, we can forget previous knowledge.
Additionally driving laws have changed. I recommend a refresher
course for drivers who already have their license. License renewal
laws vary by state. In my opinion, we should do a federalized license
renewal period. Along with this consistent renewal period, “Driver’s
Education Reinforcement” should also be mandatory in order to get a
license renewal. I believe this is important to not only teach new
drivers, but to also teach adults who have been driving for longer
periods of time. As people get used to driving, they become more
carefree and don’t pay as much attention. My proposition will
delete this habit and have drivers continue to care about their
driving habits.
Personally I have
experienced a car crash where I was at fault. This was a very
difficult experience for me. I am grateful that I was the only person
involved. The only damage done was to my car. This was an unfortunate
event but ultimately it made me a safer driver. Not everyone needs an
experience like that to make them a safer driver, but for me and many
others, it definitely made reality sink in. I feel that myself and
others who have experiences like this, should share our stories with
others. This could help others have the realization of how important
safe driving is, before it is too late.
