A little distraction can cause an action that you wish would of never happened!

At 15 years old
someone can get their permit in South Carolina. Some parents are busy
with work or taking care of family members and don’t have much time
to teach their older children how to drive. With not much experience
and the excitement of being able to drive, their life and others
could be in danger from one mistake. Looking down at a phone, looking
at a sign on the side of the road, spilling a drink, dropping
something or even changing the radio station can cause an accident in
less than 3 seconds. This is why it is important for driver
education.

Ways to reduce
deaths with car accidents is by putting the phone away from a reach
or put the phone on do not disturb before you start driving. Always
check your mirrors so you know u can see anyone when you are changing
lanes or even backing up out of a parking spot. Having a seat belt on
is a major way to reduce deaths. Make sure you are always doing the
speed limit and when the weather is horrible conditions slow down or
even stop if needing to.

I was in a car
accident about 2 years ago from just looking down at my phone which
had seemed like it was only for one second. Luckily nobody was hurt,
and I was doing the speed limit and I had my seat belt on. When I was
6 years old, I lost my grandma from a car accident. She was not
wearing her seat belt and she had hit a tree. She had gone through
her windshield headfirst which had caused every bone in her body to
break besides her left arm. I had learned that even a second looking
away from the road it can cause a big mistake but wearing a seat belt
is really important while driving a car.

To make driving
safer for yourself you can always put your phone down and watch
carefully to the objects around you. Always tell someone to drive
safe when they are getting in a car. Make sure you buckle up and have
the others around u do the same. Always drive careful and never take
a chance of taking your life or any others.
