It’s
important to learn driving education because it teaches the driver
how to be a defensive driver. Cars today are known to be considered a
weapon. Around 18% of car accidents are on the freeway which the
interstate met federal standards and which includes fully controlled
access. In intersections around 20% people are killed. The other 60%
of drivers in automobile are left accounted for. That is considered
to be a high number for citizens to die and be a fast death. Also,
another reason is the speed limit. The speed limit is used for many
reasons on a specific street. Most streets are limited to the speed
of 45 mph, however people like to have a different mindset in
driving. This limit is set to not such a high number, because it
gives time for the driver to get to one light and to the next,
without stopping at a red light. Another reason is “the flow of
traffic.” While driving, nobody likes to stop in the middle of the
road because the car in front of them also stopped. This limit is set
so people aren’t going to slow and it’s not causing a race to get
to the next light.

To
reduce the limit of deaths in car accidents, is to follow the state
laws of driving, wearing a seatbelt, and having a machear mindset.
Usually around the age 16 teens are considered to be drivers. Usually
at this age the student is still in High School and is needing a ride
to school and back home. The reason for people at a young age to
start is because the parents don’t always have enough time because
they have their jobs to go to. I think there should be a program in
school, where students learn the awareness of deaths in car
accidents. Also, wearing a seat belt is very important in driving,
for it should be a habit for drivers to be on, as soon as they enter
in a vehicle. There are many safety features in cars, like the
air-bag help
to protect a driver or passenger in a collision and minimize
injuries. Those who do not put their seatbelt on, put themselves in a
higher risk of severe injury or death. Driving could be considered
fun to do, it can be a positive outcome. Driver manuals use a phrase
for people to do as they drive, defensive driving, so it doesn’t
cause accidents. Most people as their driving get cut off or almost
potentially get hit by another vehicle. People get triggered and most
times want to cut them off also. Having a mindset to do the right
thing can help prevent any accidents on the road.

Personally I
have never been in a car accident, but my mom has been in one, in
which she will never forget. My mom and her friend were driving in a
neighborhood where they lived and as soon as they turned the corner,
down the street from the house, a car came from the side and rear
ended them. This accident caused them to go to the hospital, because
they were knocked out from the crash. The doctors cut all their
clothes, and they left the hospital with only scrapes bruises,
nothing severe. However their car was totaled,
leaving them with no car and no transportation. The cause of the
accident was the other person, because he was going over the speed
limit in a neighborhood. Learning the rules and regulations of the
road can cause the percentage of car accidents go down and save
lives.
