It’s Only A Notification
There
are many responsibilities that come with getting your license. It is
very important to understand the rules of the road before you get
onto the road. The importance of drivers ed is higher than
ever, to decrease the number of deaths. With technology becoming so
important in our everyday lives, the role of phones is taking over.
In order to decrease the number of deaths people behind the wheel
especially teenagers need to put their phone away to decrease their
urge to look at it. You can use Bluetooth in your car when taking
phone calls and use the option to turn on do not disturb when you are
in the car, so you are not getting the notifications to disrupt your
focus. With my dad growing up, he got several business calls during
the day, texts, and emails. Often, he would check them while driving,
during the tie texting and driving was not as big, but there were
several times where I did feel unsafe. He often would reply as soon
as he got them or check his emails. It was and is very irresponsible
and made me feel unsafe. In order to become a better drive not only
does knowing the rules of the road help but taking the extra step to
put away distractions while driving is a big help. Just by putting my
phone in a holder or separate part of the car it makes my driving
safer than someone with it in their hand. It does not only help you,
but it helps other drivers around you because when you are behind the
wheel it is your responsibility to keep you and the drivers around
you safe.
