In the Driver’s seat
Have you ever wondered what is the number 1 cause of death for teenagers? Well the number 1 cause of death for teenagers are car accidents. More than 17,000 teen drivers are either killed or involved in a car accident each year here in the U.S. It’s harsh and sometimes we wonder if there is something, we can do about this. One thing that comes to mind of the bat is teaching teen drivers about driver education. What it is that teens could take a class where they get taught about road safety and what could happen if they don’t take driving seriously. This would tremendously reduce death rates because I feel that teen drivers will be a little bit more responsible after taking a course like this and knowing the consequences of bad driving. Now what are the steps that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving. They are very simple. Obey Traffic laws, be predictable, avoid distractions, drive rested and staying clear of alcohol and drugs. If you follow these steps, you’ll help make the roads safe for everyone. The reason why I care about this subject so much is because I have had experiences with people driving irresponsibly. I had a cousin who died in a car accident. It was even more hard when we found out that he was drinking and driving. If only we would’ve just called a Taxi, he would still be with us today. But sadly, that is not the reality. The only thing I can do is take action and steps of being a safe driver and trying to help others. The steps I will take to be a better driver will be to obey traffic rules and being responsible when I’m driving. The way I can help other people become better drivers could be by starting a campaign on safe driving. When you are driving you are responsible for the safety of the people inside your car and the people on the road.
