Driver’s Education and its Significance to Our Environment

It is very prominent and common in this day and age to witness young drivers without a driver’s license or proper education in basic driving safety and etiquette of the road. This is very dangerous because innocent lives can be taken away due to one’s negligence and their refusal to get the accurate education needed. To prevent heartbreaking headlines and grieving families, it is our duty as respectful people to pursue what is right with how we drive, when we do and don’t drive, and what we must do beforehand.

In order to create a safe environment in terms of driving on highways, roads, etc. One must receive the licensing that is offered to them at the correct age. There are so many deaths on the road that could be prevented if people had stopped expressing such carelessness when they are behind the steering wheel. Driver’s education is mandatory in affirming that people remove themselves from the dark illusioned shadows of throwing caution to the wind. I personally believe that there needs to be stricter laws to ensure that people do receive some sort of safe driving education before they press on the gas pedal that comes with a multitude of responsibilities. When people become aware of the fact that driving not only affects them, but the environment around them that can include numerous people, especially on highways, they will be less likely to want to drive without being taught the proper driving laws. With education comes the decreasing statistic of lives being lost due to car accidents. Another tragic fact is that people feel comfortable with driving while they are intoxicated. This type of driving is the most dangerous because the driver has lost control of his/her full capacity of cognizant function. For example, my cousin had been parked properly in order to allow me to walk home to my house after eating dinner with them. As I got off the car, I witnessed a large truck driving in an unstable manner until it veered to the side and crashed directly into my cousin’s small car. The driver had ended up being drunk, but he had already inflicted the damage and put my family’s life at risk. This is why it is vital for people to be properly educated and reprimanded for driving irresponsibly; I could have easily lost a family member right in front of my eyes that day which is upsetting because not every car accident presents no casualties.

Becoming a safe driver will happen if I ensure to take the appropriate steps when obtaining my license. I will study the driver’s handbook diligently and review all the laws and safety guidelines necessary when I enter the vehicle as a driver. I can easily assure my family to become educated on the rules of the road to spread the likelihood of the people I know becoming practical and cautious drivers. Being properly educated and refraining myself from falling to ignorance will be what prevents me and others from becoming another statistic in terms of car fatalities and car accidents.
