In the Driver’s Seat
In the Driver’s Seat
In America, an average of 34,000 people die each year as a result of driving-related injuries. 34,000…. Let that number sink in for a second. Each year America is using 34,000 doctors, nurses, police, students, teachers etc… This number is hard to believe, and will significantly increase over the coming years if we don’t take quick actions. The government, the public, and every single person should cooperatively work to overcome this deadly situation, and lots of work needs to be done.
There are plenty of methods to implement safe driving for drivers in America. The best method to overcome driving-related deaths is by teaching drivers the importance of safe driving. If safe-driving courses are implemented all around America, more drivers will have the chance to nourish themselves with knowledge about how dangerous driving related accidents are, and what steps to take in order to minimize death and injury occurrences.
For example, drivers can be taught about lessons concerning how to drive properly, how to drive respecting the rules etc.. One of the major causes of driver injuries is that drivers drive after having alcoholic beverages. The alcohol decreases their attentiveness significantly and they might take the wrong decision causing harm on themselves and other drivers around them. If drivers are thoroughly taught about how dangerous driving under the influence is, they will be careful for next time, and may not drink alcohol before and while driving.
The experience I had with a car accident is that a family friend of ours lost her life due to driving-related injuries. She was a mother of one and was on a commercial bus heading to her families who live in the rural area. Unlucky, the bus she was on was hit by a mismanaged truck, where the driver of the truck confirmed that he took alcohol before he started the journey. She lost her life before she could even get to the hospital. Her 1 year old daughter is left without a mother, her husband left in the blue without a wife, her parents sorrowing over hardly as she was their only daughter. No one should experience such a horrible accident, because its consequences are horridly hard to handle.
To continue, drivers should learn about how to drive carefully according to the official rules. For example, if drivers are taught about driving at the required speed, using the correct lanes, using the car signals to inform other surrounding drivers that you are making a new decision, checking the health of the car before starting to drive, taking the cautionary steps when the vehicle is not functioning properly, etc… can indeed save the lives of many drivers, and loss of property would be a thing of the past.
In conclusion, driving-related injuries and deaths are serving the American nation at a fast rate. If the government and the public can’t act cooperatively and fastly, more and more people are going to die as a result. By teaching drivers thoroughly about the dangers of reckless driving, as well as the benefits of safe driving as well as methods to properly drive, we will save many lives as well as keep our beautiful country safe and sound.
