Teens and adults
who drive but have yet to take a drivers ed class have a 75%
or more chance of crashing and getting injured than those who have
taken the class. Some steps that you could take to reduce the number
of crashes and deaths in vehicles include being forced to take a
drivers ed course before stepping foot into the drivers side
of a car, silencing your phone and other electronics while you are in
the car whether you are the one driving or riding, and not driving
while under the influence. While i have not experienced a family
member or friend drive irresponsibly, i have seen many accidents
caused by texting or talking on the phone, reaching over to another
seat and taking their eyes off the road, and driving under the
influence. While you can't everyone to follow the laws on the road
there are some things you can do to help it. You can start by making
sure you have a safety cushion around your vehicle at all times, you
have both eyes on the road always checking your surroundings, and
finally, you can help by reporting any irresponsible and dangerous
actions others are taking on the road.
