Essay
title: Knowledge saves / An agent of change
Short essay des :
This essay confirms the importance of being knowledgeable and
applying what we know on the daily basis. It will also highlight
emphasis on all aspects of driving: how to be a responsible driver,
the do’s and don’ts of driving, what to look out for while driving,
and the responsibility of carrying passengers and ensuring their
safety.
The
importance of drivers ed in reducing the number of deaths is
significant on several levels. First, the knowledge of driving
responsibly is already a positive first step; the awareness and
insight of how people to drive, will encourage others to do the same
and therefore making their community a safer place where families
won’t have to worry about their children being hit by an
irresponsible driver. It also eye-opening to young drivers who are
close inti getting their license to be conscious of the great
responsibilities of becoming a driver. As we all know it is not just
getting behind the wheel, but also be in charge of insurances, the
amount if investments in repairs and fuel. By empowering them to do
the right thing, friends and peers may also follow and help reduce
the number of death caused by driving.
In
addition, to prevent deaths related to driving, there are steps that
can be taken into consideration. One approach that can be applied is
knowing yourself. There will be a time where there won’t be anyone
with you, and you would have to make the decision of knowing if you
are physically and mentally condition to drive especially if it is at
night and whether that person had something to drink. There is
absolutely no shame in asking for a ride home even if it were a group
outing. By doing is, not only do you save yourself from a potential
tragedy but ultimately others as well. Another element that is
equally important, persist of improving one’s driving skills. The
simple fact that one has a driver’s license doesn’t mean that one
should stop learning. In fact, it is quite the opposite. Likewise,
thanks to the license, one has to opportunity to perfection their
skills. It is said “The more you take driving seriously, the better
driver you will become”. In my opinion, this quote says it all.
It’s like everything in life. Anything that we take seriously can
be improved to the maximum, becoming a personal accomplishment.
Indeed,
I have been in a car accident and have seen one of my family members
in one as well. At the time I was living in London, I was about seven
or eight years old. My mom was driving and I was in the back
passenger seat. My mom was on a curve of a roundabout when a red car
came from the opposite direction, intersected with our car. It wasn’t
anything major but damage was clearly made. Luckily, no one was hurt
or injured. Consequently ever since that incident I have been more
cautious arounds vehicles. Additionally, as I am on my way to get my
driver’s license, it is important to me that I feel completely
comfortable behind the wheel; stress free. Moreover, my father has
been in two motorcycle accidents and one car accident. All three of
these casualties happened at night. Even though my father knew how to
drive, there were times where his speed was too fast, and when time
came to break, it was already too late.
To
anticipate these incidents from happening, there are several steps
that can be taken to ensure the safety of others and become a better
driver. First, continuous learning about the driving and traffic
rules will enhance one’s knowledge and awareness, and being
attentive on the road. Likewise, being behind the wheel it is
important to take your time to focus on the road. Precipitation is
very dangerous and life-strengthening. Speed limit as everyone knows
is not to be taken lightly as events in life happen very fast.
Finally, it is additionally critical to be free of the mind whilst
driving. Any distraction can easily influence any danger that may
occur out on the road, thus putting others in danger.
To
conclude, the importance of drivers ed and reducing the number
of deaths caused by cars allows one to be encouraged to become a
responsible driver and individual face with life events, and the
realization that the things we do can deeply affect others on the
long term. Learning from the experiences of others can also inspire
others to do the right thing.
