Stop
Accidents Before They Stop You

Vehicles
are one of the most used objects in the America. People will use
vehicles like cars to get to work, go to school, or go to events.
Cars are used every day and are very helpful to us. Cars may help us
in life, but they also hurt us as well from what can be occurred in
them. In 2018, there has been an estimate of 40,000 vehicle deaths
from any accident ranging to texting and driving, drunk driving, and
any type of other distracted driving examples. The numbers are too
high for this to be a big problem because when someone drives, they
should always make sure to pay attention to the road so no accidents
occur or keep themselves out of one. It would be so much safer on the
road if everyone just took their time and focused so hopefully people
will do whatever it takes to not be in the one driving off in an
ambulance.

First,
if you are the driver, all focus should be on the road and nothing
else. It is as simple as that and it will keep you and possible
passengers safe as you get from point A to point B. The driver should
not be distracted by ANYTHING. No phone, no screaming passengers, no
looking out the window and sight-seeing. In today’s world, people
will be distracted by their phone while they are driving.
Notifications from family members, friends, spouse, co-workers,
bosses it can be anyone and then boom, right away the driver is
distracted. Not keeping focus on the road may result in swerving the
vehicle. Social media and texting are also prime examples of a phone
distraction. Kids will want to post them driving around in their
brand, new car but if they are on that phone all the time, they may
be posted in the back of an ambulance truck on the way to the
hospital. Another possible problem of deaths in driving is drunk
driving now with being intoxicated, people will not be able to make
right decisions and also have a slower reaction than an average
human, which is not good at all especially behind the wheel.

Ways
for the number of accidents to be reduced is simple... just focus on
the road and be very aware of your surroundings! Many things can
happen on the road like someone may cut another driver off,
experiencing car problems or even distractions caused by passengers.
The best way to overcome these problems is to always look at the
road, get the car checked out/ fixed as soon as something happens to
it, and focus focus focus.

I
have never been in a car accident nor have seen one but I have been
in the car plenty of times where the driver has been distracted.
Family members and friends will take pictures or even try to fix the
GPS to get home, but then again, they are distracted and it puts my
safety and theirs all in danger. There is not anyone in the world
that can just not look at the road and just make it home in one
piece. Too many dangerous things can easily happen like the wheel
just turning s little bit, then the driver trying to jerk it back in
time, then all of the sudden they lose control of the vehicle. You
should not have been looking on that phone, now instead of paying
attention, you have to pay someone to fix your car.

Finally,
what I can do to make drivers and myself safer is to focus more on
the road and make smarter choices when the vehicle is in motion.
Knowing it is safe to lane change, use blinkers, and not speed. Do
not be in a rush to see your own death in the car. Just staying at
the speed limit and obeying all traffic laws will help you stay safe
on the roads.
