Dangers
Behind Driving

Driving
is a popular form of transportation that millions of people rely on.
Therefore, it's crucial for the implementation of driving education
to be installed before any one gets their driver's license. Having a
required class session on the dangers of driving can reduce the
number of deaths as a result of driving, because when people hear
unfortunate stories and the dangers of driving, it will be memorable
enough that they will be cautious and focused every time they're
driving. The steps that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths
related to driving is to put signs throughout the road showing “don’t
text and drive "and even statistical facts of driving accidents
can encourage drivers to be self-conscious when driving. Another step
can be fining people for committing dangerous driving acts. I believe
that as humans we establish laws to be in order and if a law
prohibited irresponsible driving just like driving under the
influence, citizens would want to conform to the rules and regulation
and avoid breaking the law. I have indeed experienced car accidents
several times but the most recent one I will not forget. It was
during the fall of 2017 and my mom was driving me to school. We were
five minutes away when a car hit us in the back. Just like the usual
protocol, my mom and the driver went to the side over the road ad
stepped out: turns out it was a student at my school. It appeared
that he was texting and driving. Something as simple as checking your
phone can lead to hurting people around you, even worse killing
someone around you. My mom suffered back pains due to that somewhat
considered minor accident. Something as simple as that has caused my
mom and others to feel pain mentally and emotionally. Every time my
mom drives, she always feels like she will be in an accident. I have
seen my friends driving irresponsibly by blasting music, dancing,
texting, and talking on the phone. I find it very dangerous for
someone that isn’t old enough to vote or drink to have the ability
to take or impact someone else’s life forever. Driving
irresponsibly is something that almost everybody experienced or seen.
It is a serious matter that is only going to worsen over time unless
there’s a stop to it. The steps we can take to be a better and
safer driver as well as help others become safer on the road is to
put our personal devices away from hand reach, so we aren’t prone
to look at it. Also, whenever a friend or family member is driving
irresponsible, I tell them to get off their phones and pay attention
on the road. There are different ways to drive dangerously but one
way to drive responsibly is to focus on the road.
