Becoming
More Mindful

Driving
a vehicle is one of the most dangerous things that we partake in on a
daily basis. It is reported, by the Association for Safe
International Road Travel that "Nearly 1.25 million people die
in road crashes each year, on average 3,287 deaths a day." These
are truly staggering rates which I believe should help motivate any
individual to play by the rules, be careful and practice mindfulness.



I
personally have experienced seeing others drive recklessly and
unfortunately for them, it resulted in a tragic outcome. Experiencing
something so shocking and scary can truly motivate a person to become
more mindful of their surroundings while driving. Hopefully, it will
not take a tragedy for others to learn that driving is a serious
matter, but sometimes it does. Thus, becoming an educated individual
while also practicing mindfulness could be the difference between
life and death.


The
importance of being informed of the staggering death rates as well as
having a thorough driving education course will positively influence
drivers to make better choices. But I believe specifically, that
showing personal video testimonials of individuals who were involved
in traffic accidents, will show others what can happen if they are
not careful of their actions, as we can most certainly learn from
their mistakes. With every individual contributing to this cause and
spreading the word there will be no excuse for ignorance of mindful
driving.
