Over the year that I have been driving I have experienced many people
cutting me off, slamming on their breaks and I have witnessed them
using their electronic devices. I have had a crazy past with my
friends and family members crashing. My father died when I was 7 due
to a motorcycle accident, it was very hard on my family because he
held us together. Now that I am 18 years old, 11 years have past and
my family has gone their separate ways, the only time we come
together is holidays. Recently I have experienced to of my friends
passing away in separate accidents. One accident happened because his
friends lost control of the vehicle and they hit a tree. My friend
wasn’t buckled up, so he was thrown out of the vehicle. My other
friend was distracted by her phone, she ran into the back of someone
and the truck behind her slammed into the back of her which made her
crushed from impact. I have lost a lot of people in my life and it
makes me afraid to drive for long periods of time. Some ways to make
driving safe for others is to have a software on their phone to make
it disabled when driving, the phone should have a censor on them to
determine how fast the person is driving, if they are using their
device and what app. I have taken the Drivers ed course
before I received my drivers license. This course has taught be to be
aware of my surroundings, and to know that I am in control of my car.
Some ways that this can help drivers is by making them take Drivers
Ed before they get their driver’s license so they can understand
the dangers of the road and the objects around them.
