Driver Safety on the Road

Firstly, driver education allows drivers to understand what laws they need to follow, and how to follow them. Also, it teaches defensive driving to help with dangerous situations and teaches how to understand various signs, and signals and understand what a danger for them on the road might be. This training also helps with awareness of these situations to reduce the number of injuries in deaths that can happen because of those risks. Also, driver ed helps with understanding how to operate the vehicles safely and gives them knowledge, and skills to become safer drivers. It also helps with understanding how traffic laws work, and how to proceed in different driving situations.

Second, all the driver’s ed courses must include how to become a safer driver. If the traffic laws are enforced more, it with reduce the chance of an accident and reduce the number of risks drivers are willing to take. It is important that there are enough signs and signals for traffic and that high-risk areas have safety rails. It is also important that the roads are properly taken care of and that they are safe to drive on. Using more modern braking systems can also reduce the amount of driving fatalities. It is important that the braking systems can work quickly and efficiently, that they can stop when needed, and that the vehicle lets you know if it is safe to switch lanes. Helping the public understand how distracted driving can be dangerous is important in making the road a safer place such as not texting while you are driving.

Thirdly, I have seen that some of my friends like to play loud music, and do not always look before they turn. I find it concerning when my friend plays the music so loud because it causes you to take your eyes off the road more and become less focused. Also, music can make it harder to make split decisions while driving and can cause you to forget where you are going. It is also important that when you switch lanes, you look before you turn into the lane. There is always a risk that someone else is in the lane across from you, or might be coming too close for you to be able to switch lanes. I also feel that if you want to play music, it needs to be at a volume level where you can still hear what is going on around you, and can focus on your surroundings.

Next, I find it important that I maintain a safe speed limit, use proper turn signals, and that I follow all the traffic laws. I also avoid any use of technology, or food that may make it harder for me to drive, and only use the GPS. When I am driving, I try to always leave at least a three-second gap between me, and the other driver, and will slow down according to the other driver’s speed, and current road conditions. I always check my mirrors and will look over to ensure the lane is empty, before switching lanes, and make sure that I turn on my turn signal.

In addition, I try to be cautious by looking ahead for potential hazards and being aware of what is happening to the side and in front of me. Defensive driving allows me to stay in control of what is going on and use good prevention techniques. Before I drive my vehicle, I ensure that the tire pressure is good, check to make sure that the brakes are working properly, and that my turn signals are also working. I have considered taking additional defensive driving courses, to expand my knowledge of road safety , and how to respond to potential road hazards.

Next, I demonstrate proper behavior behind the wheel, by not being a distractive driver, staying focused, and being aware of my surroundings. I also keep myself within the appropriate speed and change the speed based on the conditions of the road. I encourage my friends that while it is ok to have fun it is important to avoid distractions while driving and be aware of what is going on. I also make them aware that it is important to practice defensive driving by leaving at least 3 seconds between another vehicle and to be cautious with approaching potential hazards.

Lastly, I also would like to have community events, and fliers about of you can become a safe driver and a defensive driver. I would like to support measures such as repairing damaged roads, putting out more road signs, putting out more sharp curve signs, and putting out guidelines on how to become safe drivers. I am hoping that by informing the community of the issue, the number of accidents, and deaths due to careless, and distractive driving will be reduced dramatically.
