My Drivers Education

Driving a vehicle is a commonly dangerous task. Driver education is important in reducing the number of deaths because of driving. I believe this because before driver education I wasn’t aware of the rules of the road. Driving education taught me the proper and safe way to drive. Without this class, I would have had no idea what the laws were about driving. Not being aware of the rules while driving is illegal and unsafe. It is dangerous for the person driving and the others around them. This makes driving education an extremely important class to take. Driver education made me a safer and more cautious driver. The class encouraged me to study hard to pass the tests. In doing so I learned the material to make me a safer driver. Driver education made me feel more comfortable on the road as well as when taking my driving test. The more comfortable people are while driving the more likely they are to focus on the road and others. This class can save hundreds of lives and prevent driver-induced accidents.

There are many steps people can take to reduce the number of deaths related to driving. The first step is to decrease distracted driving. The use of phones while driving is dangerous and distracting. Making sure the use of phones while driving stays illegal is important in saving people’s lives. There should be harsher restrictions on the use of phones while driving. Being under the influence while driving is another big issue that increases the number of driver-induced deaths. More laws or punishments should be enforced to help combat people driving under the influence. I think the same should be said about sleep depreavation. Deeper studies should be done on sleep and how it affects driving. There are many instances where people have fallen asleep behind the wheel, which has led to deaths. This is dangerous and needs to be addressed on a deeper level. There are more technical steps people can take to help reduce the number of deaths related to driving. The proper use of stop lights and stop signs is one technical step that needs to be focused on. The use of turn signals is important as well. This all can be learned and enforced by more behind-the-wheel driving. Behind-the-wheel driving is important because it helps implement appropriate road behavior. Enforcing the technical steps when driving can ensure better safer roads.

I have never been in an accident, but I have many instances where people around me have been. These instances include my stepfather getting hit by a bus during a severe fog. The bus turned without seeing the car and hit my stepdad. This led to him having to be airlifted and have extensive treatment. A similar situation happened with my grandpa. He was driving in the morning with the sun on his face. He was an impaired driver and he and another car hit at a cross-section. The corn was up, and the other drivers were under the influence. With this combination, it led to the deaths of the other driver and passengers. While my grandpa got airlifted and had extensive lifesaving treatment. I had two friends who had car accidents in the same spot and they both had to be airlifted. One pulled out in front of a semi and the other a garbage truck. Both were dangerous and had a long recovery time. There have also been smaller accidents that my family has been involved in as well. My stepmom was hit in a Walmart parking lot by an elderly driver and her car was considered totaled. All these instances included people who were not attentive while driving. One mistake can lead to harm to yourself or others.

Many factors can affect how people drive and the outcomes. The scary truth is that people can’t control many of the factors that lead to accidents. This is why it is important to stress the need to focus on the factors we can control. We can take more steps to ensure that everyone is safe on the roads. Staying focused and attentive while driving is important for everyone. I can make sure I stop at all stop signs and watch intensively at Crossroads. I can pay extra attention and be more careful when crossing intersections specifically in the country when not all roads are visible. I can drive more carefully when the weather is bad and stay calm. I will use proper turn signal edict and make sure to obey traffic lights. I can use every drive as a learning experience to become a better safer driver.
