In The Drivers Seat

The importance of driver education in reducing the number of deaths as a result of driving is detrimental. Driver’s wouldn’t be aware of the hazards that can cause car accidents. It also wouldn’t teach or educate drivers to pay attention, where they should be looking and more specifically what they need to be watching out for as anything can happen. There are several steps that can be taken that can reduce the number of deaths related to driving by drivers simply just paying attention. I believe that there needs to be certain rules/qualifications implemented so that it’s not so easy for people to get their drivers license.

More steps that can be taken to reduce the amount of deaths related to driving is again to thoroughly educate drivers, allow more classes that drivers can take other than just the general class to get your drivers license. I’ve had an experience of being in a car accident, thankfully nothing serious, but traffic was slowing very fast on the interstate I was able to make a proper and safe stop, several feet from the car in front of me, the driver behind was not paying attention, I was looking in my rear view mirror and noticed that he wasn’t slowing down like he should’ve been and it was too late for him to make a proper stop and rear ended me and pushed my car into the car in front of me. He didn’t have insurance and ended up trying to drive away, he thankfully didn’t make it far and was caught. I’m not sure what he was doing that distracted him from him driving, I know that everyone was shook up about it. Even the people in front of me that got hit from my car getting pushed into theirs.

There are several steps that one can take to be a better and safer driver while also helping others become safer on the road. First, paying attention to the road. I feel a lot of drivers know the hazards of being distracted, they still text and drive, or even changing a song can distract you to a point of missing something and getting in a wreck. Second, I think that drivers need to take a minute and slow down. I believe that speed does inhibit ones driving abilities, and reaction time to the other drivers around them. There are always going to be slow and fast drivers on the road, and there isn’t any way to avoid either. Ways that we can help drivers to be safer, insurance companies could provide more incentives for drivers. Actually, start to lower their rates for being a safe and cautious driver on the roads.
