The
Driving Epidemic
Driving
is something people do all over the world; everyday people drive to
their jobs or to any place they need to be. In this day and age,
driving has become a such mundane task that no one is taking any
special notice. The automobile industry is expanding and furthering
its horizons. While this is a good thing for technology, it is not
such a good this for the raising issue of car accident related
fatalities. According to asirt.org (Association of safe international
Road travel), there are almost 1.25 million people that die from car
accidents a year. Better education on driving and requiring drivers
education in order to get a drivers license will lower the chance of
getting into a car accident and save lives.
Driving
education is the most important step to being a safe driver. One must
know the rules of the road before they can follow them. Learning how
to drive is a very scary process, and having a person that is not a
parent helps relieve some of that stress and fear. Driving education
not only teaches someone to drive, but it also teaches people the
dangers of driving. In a drivers Ed class the instructors teach the
students the dangers of texting and driving as well as driving under
the influence. This is so important to know! Many people say they
understand that texting and driving is dangerous, but still do it
anyways. In drivers Ed people can see just how dangerous it is.
Knowing this can The turn people away from the idea of even looking
at their phone while driving.
With
drivers Ed being as important as it is, every person should be
required to go through at least one class in order to get their
license.
Many young
people will have their parents teach them how to drive, but that is
not always the greatest idea. As people get more comfortable with
driving they pick up bad habits, and parents will teach their
children these bad habits. If a student is taught by an instructor,
they will only be taught the most safe and legal ways to drive. If
drivers ed was required in every state, no bad habits would be
picked up and everyone would be a much more safe driver.
Driving
is a huge part of ever day life for many people, but it can be very
dangerous. Teaching people how to drive safely is the only real
answer to make driving more safe. Through drivers Ed classes and
better education on the dangers of driving the world can become a
much safer place.
